This guest was trouble before arrival... Unfortunately the VRBO system had a glitch that made it impossible for me to respond to this review, until now, months later. The guest in question emailed me a couple days prior to arrival, telling me that his numbers if guests had gone from 6 to 10 people. I said that that is no problem however of course there are additional fees. He immediately fired off several emails to me telling me that is ridiculous, and he booked the villa, it doesn't go by number of guests etc etc etc. In actual fact I have a base rate for up to 6 people, and each additional guest beyond 6, there is an additional fee for. It is crazy to think that I can charge 1 base rate for any amount of people, there are additional costs to me with each guest. More rooms to be cleaned, A/C usage, electricity, water, towels, laundry etc. I explained all of this to him and he adamantly refused to see the logic in differing rates for additional persons, going so far as to call me a crook and a thief etc. I was certain that he would complain about everything under the sun, and he did just that, effectively trying to damage my reputation and business. The lower pool deck did have a couple of uplifted tiles, that I was unaware of ( I was visiting my family at the time of his arrival) which were promptly fixed upon my return. I have just installed brand new A/C units on the main floor, prior they did have older window units. The guests whom were with this an were here for the big celebration in August and were out late every evening, partying. They managed to drop a pair of tweezers in the toilet, which my plumber found, there had not been any plumbing issues prior to or since the removal of the tweezers. I have worked extremely hard at building this into a successful business and it's unfair that a dishonest guest has affected my business so greatly. Thanks very much Karen (owner)
