Hôtel assez proche du centre ville disposant de pas mal de services (piscine spa...). Soupe gratuite le soir à 18h et donne un paquet de nouille par personne à l'arrivée ! Petit déjeuner inclus correct.

the service was great but the fact that the people who shared the room came home in the early hours morning drunk,did not go down well, tried to get a single room but none available so i booked into another hotel so i could get some peace and sleep well after a long 2 night journey from rotorua, and seing as i was going on a 6hr trip to greymouth i needed the sleep,

It was a good hostel if you want a chill fun night. Love the pool/sauna and spa. Not enough parking on site but plenty on street parking. Close to Nelson CBD and good outdoor space at the hostel.

0/10. Lasted 15 minutes and booked alternate accom. Door to first room I was supplied with had been busted in and the lock was hanging by a fragment of a screw thread in one corner, almost on the floor... Pillows looked a little too crumpled to be fresh. Arrived to windows open on a cold wintery night. Approached staff to repair door, was supplied with a second room. Tried to shut the windows but the latch was snapped off. Asked staff to close the window and told "It will be alright" They then adjusted the curtain which was like well ripen swiss cheese, holed from sagging misplaced hooks on a flimsy rail, welcoming the wind to greet me. Enough I thought! NO! A small smurf sized oil fin heater is plugged in by the staff member. Why?... there is a fan heater on the wall. I turn on the fan heater to hear the exorcism of Edward Scissor hands in a paper shredder begin. Ah. Over it. I booked somewhere else. No one on reception, so I just put the key on the desk. Let the staff know I was leaving as they were out the back by the pool.

WORST experience.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay in Paradiso. I have stayed in many hostels before, in NZ or overseas. I have to say, I have never stayed anywhere WORSE than Paradiso. CHAOTIC, UNCLEAN, UNFRIENDLY. I booked 4 double room, but when we arrived, we were given 3 double and a 4-bunk bed dorm. I thought that was fine as long as it was for us only. Little we know how chaotic the management is. The dorm room is super small and gloomy, we opened the door to air the odour out. However, our PRIVATE room soon became a PUBLIC hall way. Our room is connected to another room with a door. We locked the door from our side because again we booked a private double room. While my friend and I(we are two girls) chilling out in the room, a man walked in without saying anything to enter another room. We were SHOCKED! Five minutes later, another man did the same thing and I asked him to leave and use their entrance because our room is a private double room. But the man explained he is used to use this one. I was astonished. At night, a group of people sat at our door step and chatted until we had to get out of our bed to tell them to be quiet. Anyway, over all I would not recommend anybody to stay here and we would not do it anymore.
