Nice little getaway

The rumbling house
Publié le 21 août 2023 sur HomeAwayEverything looked great, clean, spacious, other than that guest house is under the main house so you can hear al the stomping and chair and couches moving and dragging all above you so is not the relaxing house you're looking forth.

Not What I Expected
Publié le 18 juill. 2020 sur HomeAwayI knew when booking that this was just the lower level, but I assumed that it would be fine, it wasn't. Although the management was very polite and accommodating, even let us check in a little early since the unit was already cleaned, we could not get over all the "little" things that eventually added up to a lot. The walls really are ridiculously thin, and the upstairs neighbors were SO loud. We heard everything, the walking, the running, the music, everything! They were not bad neighbors mind you, it was a large group, with lots of kids, it's just that the walls are SO thin, it really could not be helped. In my opinion, this set-up is not ideal for multi families, but more for a college group of single adults or maybe a reunion where everyone knows each other and is one big happy family. We wanted to call a manager a few times but were unable to... due to the fact that there is no cell reception. We will not be returning, but I do have a few recommendations for the owners/managers:
1. throw away stained dishes, even though they are clean, they look dirty to renters.
2. consider adding a baking sheet in the kitchen, and maybe replace the broken wine opener.
3. consider adding a curtain or some blinds over both the front door and back door as they are wide open and visible to upstairs guests. One of them even waived at me as I laid in my bed because they were coming down the stairs. We ended up using a sheet to cover the front door.
4. Cleaning the walls, there are a few spots where it appears that a bug was killed/squashed but it wasn't cleaned up. It just makes the place look run down and unkept.
5. Replace the old torn up/ripped blanket in the armoire, it just makes the place feel "cheap"
6. Wash or replace the futon covers, they are badly stained.
7. The master shower has lots of mold and mildew, it needs some cleaning up.
8. consider adding a landline since cell reception is non-existent in the house. We were able to wander aimlessly outside and "catch" a signal a few times, but in case of an emergency, we would've had to jump in the car and drive somewhere to get a reception, which is not ideal when you are not familiar with the area and don't know where the ER is located.
9. I would recommend cancelling your wifi, it absolutely never worked and it doesn't much make sense to pay for it if no one can utilize it, but it's your money...
10. please consider replacing those mattresses, they are very old and extremely uncomfortable.

Great place by the river!
Publié le 20 août 2018 sur HomeAwayGreat location in a more quiet part of River Road, and a great part of the river was just across the street. The house was clean and comfy. Parking a little tight, but we were able to make it work. We did have some issues with the AC, but it was quickly addressed with little to no interruption to our trip. We would definitely love to go back!

Shared home— be aware
Publié le 17 juill. 2018 sur HomeAwayDid not realize that we were renting the bottom floor of a 2 story home—that was not clear in the description. The location was great. The beds, though plenty, were horrible. The futons were more comfortable than the beds. Two of the beds caused us to roll to the middle—I slept on top of the pillows to prevent this. The mattresses are wrapped in a noisy plastic waking you and everyone else whenever turning in bed. There must be no insulation between the upstairs and downstairs because it sounded like our neighbors above us were jumping on our heads at 6:30 every morning. They woke us 4:30am one morning—maybe they fell out of bed. The home was clean with adequate utensils, linen, and storage. It needs to be clearly stated in the description that this is a shared home with other people.

Hi Gail. We appreciate your feedback. I just wanted to make it clear that it does state in the description the following "The Cliffside Inn Guest House is the 1st floor unit (ground-level) of this breathtaking house!"
It is the 3rd sentence in the description on the listing. I apologize if you guys did not read the discription regarding the set up of the home. I will certainly pass along your feedback regarding the beds to the owners. We would love to accommodate ya'll again. We do have other property options that are not shared with other groups :)

Great Location!
Publié le 12 juin 2018 sur HomeAwayWe loved the Guest house. Great access to the river just across the street. This newly remodled story was perfect for our family. We never felt over crowded. There were plenty of extra towels, which were needed after many trips to the river. The kitchen was stocked with every dish and utensil we needed. We will definitely be using this place more often.
