Perched on a cliff high above the Guadalupe River is the picturesque Clutter Falls Retreat. This custom built river retreat offers spectacular hill country views with soothing sounds of the rapids and falls below. Clutter Falls Retreat offers two houses the Main House and the Guest House each property offers privacy and is reserved separately. The Guest House located in New Braunfels offers a perfect location for a romantic or small getaway.

With 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath Clutter Falls- Guest House will accommodate up to 4 guests. Guests will relish in the inviting hot tub for an evening under the stars.*This property overlooks the Guadalupe River but DOES NOT have River access*

This Charming two story A-frame property offers everything one could need for a relaxing vacation. With carefully chosen pieces this home has a rustic upscale river home feel. The beautiful wood plank ceiling gives this guest house a cozy warm feel. Appreciate the beautiful views of the river from almost every angle of the home. Guests will find plenty of room for sleeping with two spacious bedrooms and one and a half baths.

The kitchenette hosts a microwave and mini fridge offering just enough accommodation to prepare quick snacks or enjoy a cup of coffee. Guests will sleep soundly in one of the two sleeping spaces. The master hosts a queen bed with a memory foam topper. The upstairs open loft offers two twin beds perfect for children. Relax in the comfortable living area that offers beautiful views, a large screen television, and a comfortable sofa.

For a romantic evening, enjoy delicious takeout while dining al fresco at the charming outdoor seating. For an evening under the stars, relax in the inviting private hot tub located on the front deck overlooking gorgeous hill country views. Guests will find this home to be the perfect escape after a busy week.

Looking for an outing for the day, Clutter Falls is less than a mile from the historic Gruene Hall, enjoy music and dancing, or dine at the delicious Gristmill Restaurant. Gruene offers an outdoor market, wine tasting, and many delicious restaurants. Only minutes away is New Braunfels with plenty to do: float the beautiful Guadalupe River, rent paddle boats or picnic at Landa Park, swim at the Spring Fed Pool, spend the day at Schlitterbahn Water Park, or visit one of the local wineries or breweries for wine or beer tasting. Visit Wimberley and spend the day shopping in the downtown square, swimming, and hiking at the famous Jacobs Well, Zip Line Adventure, or Blue Hole regional Park offers swimming and nature trails. Canyon Lake is only 30 minutes away and there is plenty of outdoor fun to be found. The James C Curry Nature preserve is great for hiking, or biking trails. Canyon Lake offers daily pontoon and boat rentals and so much more.

For the most part, we were very pleased with this property. Word to the wise: use the photos as an accurate description of what is truly available. The written description indicated that a full kitchen was available (stove, etc…) no, an outdoor grill…no (unless there was one under cover down in the very messy and scary leafy abyss under the stairs/porch), a washing machine/laundry area…no. All of this might have been available at the “main house” but not in the “guest house” where we stayed. We came prepared to use the kitchen area, but we are good at improvising and that’s just what we did, and it didn’t faze us much; however, if you have kiddos or are intentionally trying to cut expenses, don’t rely on a full kitchen. Also, only enough cutlery for two. All in all, this was a great property. We enjoyed the hot tub, the view, and the proximity to Gruene. Great, clean space.

Nice little house, don't plan on cooking much there.
It's a great little house. Fun reading nook under the stairs for kids. It's perfect for a couple or a family of 4 as long as you don't plan on cooking there. Very minimal kitchen and utensils. The location is great. It's a long walk to Gruene but doable. We drove mostly. Nice view of the river.

This garage apartment met our needs for a short weekend stay. The response was very good when needed. Just a couple of small issues we faced around the entry using the code system but thankful they had another way to enter. Any longer than a long weekend stay would be tough bc there isn’t a full kitchen or a large fridge. Like the hottub overlooking the river. Kids enjoyed that. Also liked proximity to Gruene Hall and the Guadalupe River.

Enjoyed the stay
We really enjoyed the guest house, it was nicely built out and very comfortable. The tiny little hangout under the stairs is a cute touch especially for anyone with little ones. The view looking over the river and surrounding area was very pretty, especially in the early morning hours. The main house is/was unoccupied during our stay so having the property to ourself was a pleasant surprise. The neighborhood is tucked away and quite quiet which is also a bonus. We did get in the hot tub once, but it started sporadically changing settings or turning off on it's own so there may be some electrical issues that need to be addressed. It made us leery about using it again incase there was a short (this could be very serious, please have a professional pool guy/ electrician look at it). Another suggestion is to have some of the trees around the driveway trimmed up for those with larger vehicles, especially where the guest house parking is. I have a truck and couldn't drive into the guest house parking spot without scratching the roof and side of my vehicle a bit. Not a huge deal to me, but others may not be too happy. Cars and smaller SUVs likely wouldn't have an issue. All in all my girlfriend and I would stay here again and not going to knock it for a little bit of overgrowth or the hottub acting up as those are easily remedied and just a heads up for the owner. 5/5

Charming Gruene getaway
We had a great stay at this property. The sunsets are divine and the hot tub was so relaxing. The garage apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a two night get away. The house is convenient to the cute town of Gruene, and also to New Braunfels. If we ever make our way back I'd happily book here again. If I could change one thing it'd be the mattress. It wasn't compatable with my back and gave me some lower back pain even though it seemed fairly comfortable. But that could be a me thing. Overall it was a great place.

The trip to the Texas Hill Country was much needed and so relaxing for my husband and myself. The apartment was a described though we found the distance to Gruene a bit far to walk to and return at night, 1.3 miles. The hot tub was perfect. We would recommend this space and will return.
