Cozy cottage!

Nice and clean small cottage
Publié le 18 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayJan was super nice and responsive. The cottage is small but extremely clean and well appointed. The house is on a busy road but we couldn't hear it inside. There are lots of interesting places nearby. We went to the Indiana Dunes parks and a few of the area wineries. We packed in 4 adults one kid and a baby. I feel like we got good value for the price. Thank you, Jan!

Spotless cozy house with lovely garden

Jan was a wonderful host and made sure we had all the information we needed including transportation options in the area. The house itself had everything we needed (multiple parking spots, coffee pot, wifi, comfy chairs) and a very nice sitting area outside. The neighbor cat even came and joined us for coffee on the patio on morning. Would definitely stay again.

Kids loved the cat!
Publié le 10 août 2023 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I came with two of our grandchildren, ages 3 and 4 to play at the beach. We were hoping to hang out at New Buffalo Beach, but it was very small with limited parking. We went to Warren Dunes State Park instead-a bit further to drive, but more spacious beach. Unfortunately due to weather, we only had part of 2 days at the beach. Our hosts had made suggestions of other activities to do with the kids, which we really appreciated (and needed)! The kids loved the Heston Steam train and the smaller gauge train in Indiana, Oink’s and the Galien River Trail and Lookout!
Our cottage was very clean and comfortable-Jan’s flowers around all the properties and gorgeous! Den’s concrete work is cute and creative. The business next door has a huge grey tabby cat that came to visit one morning and made himself right at home on laps! The kids thought he was cute!
I appreciated Jan making suggestions for groceries-very helpful and not too far of a drive.
Just a suggestion: a pair of kitchen shears and sharp knife in the kitchen and a new dustpan.
Beds were comfortable; we enjoyed the deck, fire pit area and the hammock!
Truly appreciated Jan and Den’s property and will return.

Cute place!
Publié le 23 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had two families of four staying at Sleeping Willows, and although it was a little tight, it was an excellent stay. The loft area was perfect for the kids to play in (aged 4-8) and there was some space in the backyard to play. The kids loved watching for the train every time it came by. It's both convenient and dangerous to be right off the main highway, but the kids were old enough to know not to wander near the road. The garden was beautiful, well-kept, and almost magical! The fire pit and deck were great places to gather. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend it to anyone with kids. Thanks to Jan, our host, who made the process really easy and was always within reach!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

The location is a short drive from Chicago and a few minutes down the road to downtown New Buffalo. We had everything we needed during our stay and Jan was very helpful in giving recommendations. Highly recommend for groups looking for a weekend getaway!

Good location between dunes
Publié le 12 août 2022 sur HomeAwayConvenient location between Indiana and Warren State Dunes parks with easy access to local beaches. House is small but charming with enough space and very clean. We changed our vacation plans and were able to book last minute. It is right off Michigan Ave and train tracks are across the street so it can be noisy outside and there's a business next door.
The garden was cute I would have liked a bench or swing amongst the flowers. There were some very nice wooded walking paths to the rear of the property we enjoyed. My kids enjoyed the hammock and it was pleasant to enjoy a bonfire one night.
My kids loved the bunkbeds and loft area and my son did not want to leave. It was a good rest after long days at the beach and dune climbing. Jan was a wonderful host and very easy to reach with any questions.
