Charming Coastal Retreat Steps from the Beach!

Our charming 1930s beach house offers a classic New England coastal getaway with plenty of space. Located just a block from the Long Island Sound and breathtaking views of the Thimble Islands. Enjoy views of the Long Island Sound just a block away, take a walk along the coast line, rinse off with an outdoor shower, and have dinner on the deck or patio in the huge private backyard. Or enjoy a meal and live music at one of several restaurants within walking distance.
This 1930s house has been renovated while maintaining its charm. Exposed beams, hardwood floors, and original fireplace offer unique design characteristics. The backyard is very large and private, backing up to a marsh. There is an outdoor shower, patio area with fire pit, and a deck to fully enjoy the beautiful property. The neighborhood is very friendly and safe.

The beach at the end of the road (Limewood Beach) should only be used for short walks below the high tide mark. Above the high tide mark is owned by individuals and is private property. Other beaches you will have access to are Branford Point (5 min drive), Stoney Creek beach (12 min drive), and Hammonasset State Park Beach (beautiful large beach roughly 20 min drive).

Location is minutes to New Haven (Yale, museums, famous New Haven pizza)

The house was perfect for our multi generation gathering, spacious enough for all. The kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs. The beds very comfortable. Would highly recommend it!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house had plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms for our family. It was nice to have the additional TV room and sunporch for morning coffee and relaxing. We recommend this house to anyone looking for a place in Branford. Make sure you understand the rules associated with the beach access when renting. We came in the winter so it was not as important to us as was taking walks and just enjoying the coastline. It would’ve been nice to have a shower curtain on the master bedroom bathtub when we took showers. Because of the lack of a shower curtain we did use the guest bath (there is a sprayer, but we didn’t want to accidentally get water outside the tub area ) - other than this small note the house was very comfortable and worked Wonderfully for our family!.

Wedding Vacation
We stayed at this property weekend of Nov 23rd, 2024. The house is super nice. Very clean. Other than food, the home is stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Plenty of restaurants, groceries and other shopping nearby. We had an 8 month old and did not feel uncomfortable at all. Would rent again and would recommend this property to anyone.

Excellent for Extended Family
The "Coastal Retreat" was perfect for our extended family visit - much larger than it appeared from the listing with three levels offering multiple spaces for people to get away or to gather. We appreciated the big table for meals and games, and the kitchen was well stocked. The neighborhood was quiet, but close to restaurants, and great for walking to the shore or around the area to admire the architecture, gardens, and quirky touches of nearby homes.

Perfect cozy house
This house served as a home base for us for a family reunion weekend in January. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable and perfect for our weekend stay. It had everything we needed and the owner was very accommodating when we requested a late check out at the last minute. We loved it so much that we are hoping to come back during a warmer time! Lovely lot and lots of charm! We couldn’t have been happier!!

IN town for a wedding at the Owenego Inn
This was the perfect spot for our stay in beautiful Branford for our niece's wedding celebration. Awesome, Would Book Again!
This property was identical to the listing and was exactly what we were expecting! The owners were so accommodating and responsive. We stayed here for Christmas and they even put up a Christmas tree for us, a nice touch and we really appreciated that. Very clean, nice clean decorations and furniture, easy check-in and check-out, no problems at all. Super super close to the beach, a short 4 minute walk, beautiful beach. I would definitely stay here again!

The listed “private beach” was not for our use
The property manager was very responsive and the place was super cute and clean. However, the listing said “short walk to private beach”. Turns out while it is a short walk to a private beach, there was NO beach access for us. We walked down with 5 kids under the age of 5 and their sand toys to get kicked off and we had to carry them home crying. There is a beach that you can enter with a pass that is a 10 minute drive (not mentioned anywhere) but I would have never booked a beach house where I had to drive sandy, swim diapered kids home. Certainly not at that price. Nice for off season, but I felt very deceived. PS- he removed the “private beach” from the listing when I messaged him to ask how to get to our private beach
