Air conditioning did not work in the room. There is construction on the bridge which starts at 6am and is not communicated on their website.

We were able to log in and check the temperature settings log and noticed the set point was set incorrectly. We did receive your after-hours call, but it wasn't escalated to our on-call manager for immediate assistance. We do not normally communicate things like construction work on our website, but I do understand how this would impact your stay and will look into how we can communicate this in the future.We will contact you directly to see if there is something we are able to do to compensate for this inconvenience.ManagementGhost Light Inn

The safe did not work, the electric candles were dead, no breakfast was offered on Saturday and Sunday. I called to get a early check in, was told we could check in 12 - 2. When we got there our room was not ready. The guy at the front desk said he would text or call me when the room was ready and never heard from him. For almost $500/night I would not rate this hotel as 5 stars.

Hi Cheryl,Thank you for your review.We are sorry to hear about your experience, I believe the candles were replaced shortly after you checked in and we were not aware of the issue with the safe. Usually this is a simple fix that takes a couple of minutes. Check in is typically at 3pm and early check ins are never guaranteed, we suggest calling on the day for an update. We also do not have any record of a request for an early check in, when booking through a booking agent you might not be speaking with somebody at the property.

The rooms were well appointed, the beds comfortable and the river view was incomparable. Will stay here again.

Have been wanting to stay at the Ghost Light for quite awhile, but was never able to find an open weekend. Finally managed to make it work, and I was not disappointed at all. Will definitely be back.

I love the location of the hotel. The property faces the water, and the lounge areas are beautiful. I especially enjoy watching the ducks. I have one minor complaint: I stayed in a room with sliding glass doors but no terrace to stand on. While opening the doors and using a chair inside the room is pleasant, there's an issue. When you open the sliding glass doors, the guardrail with a wood top should be cleaned. I noticed a couple of spiders near the rooftop soffit, and their droppings land on the wood, making it look like bird droppings, which also appear on the screen. This makes it uncomfortable to rest your arms on the wood. Because of this, I rated property condition and facilities 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise, everything else is amazing.
