I accidentally booked the wrong dates for a trip, Expedia contacted hotel for a refund or change of dates and the Hotel refused. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PLACE.

Hi Amy, being unhappy with out even stepping on the property DOES NOT qualify for 1 star, just becoz you happen to make a mistake, so apparently hotel has to take the blame!Moreover Amy, you Did not book your room w/ us, you Did not pay a single time to us, you paid to Expedia, n booked w/ Expedia, they supp to refund you if you made a mistake, not us! It is Expedia is v up front n honest abt it it is their policy NO REFUNDS and you clicked "agreed" before they let you go any further. It has no room to say if you make an error in the dates, it will be refunded, no Mam, it does not! So that is what happened but you unloaded upon us cuz we are a small business, trying to survive in a small town where 2 big franchise hotels to compete against. By giving us 1 star it may satisfy your revenge but you hurted us by preventing future reservations w/ us from all those patrons who care abt small businesses to thrive n survive. Yes you lost money but we did nothing wrong regarding that for sure! Next time book w/ us directly, then you can cxl till the day of arrival up to 4pm, how abt that! Then you will not be charged a single penny, no cxl fee, nothing at all! Now you gave us 1 star w/o even coming here, how abt if u come here n if any thing goes wrong, there is nothing less than 1 star! We are afraid of you now to book a room for you here with us! Sorry Amy!

We had a great stay for my family reunion, which was only a mile away. Only bad thing was the pool and hot tub were closed, and we were really looking forward to using them. We will be back next year, and hoping they will be up and running then!

In fact it says right under "maintenance n closure" section right before you scroll down to making your reservation in Expedia.No matter what,, we are profoundly sorry for that!!Glad everything else worked out for you during your 2 nightsxstay w/ us at a v reasonable price, about half of the franchise hotel prices!Hope you enjoyed your yearly family reunion especially when you missed that one last year, as you said. Hope pool n spa will be up n running next year n you will enjoy more by being w/ us again! The for your loyalty year after year!Thx again for giving us an opportunity to serve your lodging needs, will be looking forward to serve you again!

Thx so much Mr.Schroer for your 4 out of 5 stars. Sorry we lost one star becoz of continental break fast, that is the only permit we have. We are not permitted to serve Hot BF. But we are just 50 yards from McD on the right and 50 yards from Bob Evans on the left. Both restaurants serve Hot BF, if any one choose to. It was an honor to serve your lodging needs along with your brother in another king room. Hope to see you both again in Sept for the other Regatta boat race. Thx again so v much!

The property does not appear as the pictures. Upon arrival to our room it was dark, smelled poorly, dust and dirt abundant. Upon pulling down the mattress covers we noted holes burned into the bed linens. We did not stay, and do not recommend the property.

Sorry Amy, for your less than satisfactory encounter. We didn't expect that either. But Amy how a hotel which invites guests can be dark? Remember all hotel's slogan "We will leave the lights on foryou!"It can NEVER be dark cuz outside lights are on night sensor, they automatically come on n off when dark enough or bright enough. All hotels same way. They are top bldg lights on all 4 sides of the bldg. No body will stay in a dark n dingy place, for sure! Moreover Amy, this is an indoor hotel, if any smell comes out of any rm it lingers for some time cuz there are no windows in hallways however there is no dust or dirt any where or we wound have not been full during this boat race. You can see 2 other good comments for their stays w/ us during the same period. Regarding cig burns Amy, when someone asks for non smoking room then if not only they smoke in the room but leave burn marks on the bed, there is no way we know or control it. Sheets n blankets can be replaced as well as Pillow protectors n pillow cases and we do, but can't throw away expensive Bed spreads one after the other. No body's skin touches bedspreads cuz these are on top of blankets which are on top of flat sheets, then someone is laying down under those 3. You just flipped bed spread half way n made all these heart breaking comments!! We appologize again Amy! What a pretty n simple 3 letter name. WOW!

Pool had no heater but i did swim. I dont mind cold water! Hot tub was broke. Took forever for the front desk person came out. Had to call the desk from inside. room was good.

Hi MS. Kelly, thx for the review of your short stay w/ us. At least you found your room as " good", that is a sigh of relief cuz we are bombarded w/ AC complaints when 95F outside especially when one comes from being outside for long, it takes time for body temp to adjust, since room is not a cooler or refrigerator. AC unit just cools the "air" which takes time. Mam, the spa was not " broke" but we are fixing the water leak n painting it. As I just said n you knew before we knew by being outside all day that it was 95F, so "in ground pool" water temp goes up automatically, it never went lower than 82F, which is NOT a "cold", water as you mentioned.Yes heater needs some parts which are not easy to get. Mc Alarney Pool n Spa are working on it. Pool closes 10pm, we still let you swim cuz you said " I am a hot person, water temp is just fine", when we came n asked you abt water temp which was 82F all day. We thought , you going to appreciate our going xtra mile to bend the rules for you to earn your pleasure guess we failed!! FD employees are humans too, if you rang the bell and if they were in rest rm, they can't hear the bell, however if you call the hotel ph #, they ALWAYS hv cordless ph w/ them to answer any call even if in the rest rm. ONE just hv to exercise some patience as he/ she does that every where else, even in hospital emergency care room. Similarly, FD may be helping some guest in their rooms regarding set up of WIFI connection or something else. We wear diff hats all day to help ALL the guests, of course within our limits. We believe at this point We addressed all your concerns n hope you can forgive us. Also hope to see you again for the festival and get a positive review that time!

Thx Ms.Stephanie for not forgetting to put a negative review at 11:30 pm before going to bed, v much appreciated n also for staying w/ us at the lowest price one can imagine, which was 77.49 for each N of your 3N! See if you can find this price per N, in 50 mile radius of New Martisville, WV for a fully equipped N/S room of 2 beds w/ indoor pool, free Continental BF,free internet, 40" flat screen TV w/ 99 cable channels, daily room svc,desk n chair, 2 in room land line desk phones, iron n iron board, hair dryer, luggage rack, air conditioned and 24 hr room svc. w/ free parking. You DID not say however, why u feel that we deserve the rating which you gave us. You got to be satisfied w/ your 3N stay or you were not gonna stay that long n would have asked for the room change which we could have done in a heart beat, but you NEVER asked. Only thing we can think of that you came to FD after 2 nights of your stay, saying your husband got a bug bite on the knee, you wanted Refund of your stay w/o giving us any proof what kind of bug bite it is n where it came from, even if he was there all 2 days outside in open air. Mam no hotel would give You refund for that w/o any proof that it occurred becoz of our fault. We searched next day all over the room but could not find any bug, however we sprayed any way. Still on the following, we DID not find any dead or alive bug in your room. Like we said, you must have been satisfied w/ your room or would not have stayed for that long! No matter what mam, we appologize for your less than satisfactory stay. We are sorry!

Toilet clogged, tub wouldn't drain. Carpet was dirty, and bathroom. Coffee maker was dirty. Pool and jacuzzi was closed

Mr/ Ms anonymous, it was more authentic if you would have shared w/ us your name at least so we could see what room were you in or if you were ever!. Our advasaries also put such negative reviews which of course are not genuine or real. Moreover if we knew the name, we could go to that room n fix all the issues if they exist, so no more complaints, which apparently we were not aware of any issues or we would not have given you such room w/ such issues n look for trouble. We could hv switched the rm if it was that bad, but u stayed there any way w/ no complaints what so ever, wondering why??As every one knows clogged toilets n tubs are only becoz of occupying guests who mis used them n did something which they won't do at their homes, so they got unclogged during their stays. Separate Plungers are available for toilets n for tubs, all you had to do just call FD to provide you one. Obviously we DID NOT give you clogged toilet or tub. We clean the tubs, run water n flush toilets multiple times, during room cleaning using commercial cleaners from Ecolab n never any prob.n we never give clogged toilts! Carpets are not new but they are not dirty, we shampoo a number of room carpets every day, one by one. Ppl walk on the carpets w/ dirty footwares, so apparently they can not stay clean, however no mud or dirt sitting there, as we vac the room after room cleaning which is part of house keeping every day! It is Not a new hotel, who charge 239/219 per N during the feast where you paid us only 77.45 +tax per N. Is over an 100 saving on each room per N is better or walk on a brand new carpet?, we let you decide that. No carpet is dirty here.Similarly all bath rooms get fully cleaned after each check out, so they can't be dirty either. Moreover if coffee maker was not up to your standard, it could have completely washed in the vanity sink right where it sits or you would have called the rd so we could have come n wash it for you but you would rather complain in Expedia than telling us abt it during your stay or at the ck out time, so we could have fixed the problem, we knew nothing abt it. You gave us no name nor any rm #, so should know where are these issues which inadvertently we are not aware of. Similarly Pool was open, gsts were swimming up to the night time, however spa was closed cuz we are painting it. We addressed all your concerns n we appologize for your less than expected stay, with us(if you stayed)! Sorry for that!

OMG Mr. Brown, you made our day!Thx so v much cuz all we see are negative reviews! We only had couple of complaints out of 50 Ck outs,mainly abt AC units, cuz it is 95F outside, so how much an AC can take! Thx again for 10 out of 10 stars. Also the for giving us oppertunity to serve your lodging needs. We were full last N, not a single rm available. We had to stop Expedia n BDC not to send any more reservation. We' ll see you again next year for the festival n also serve your lodging needs!
