Cutest Lil Blue Crab Cabin

I absolutely loved the lil blue crab cabin! It was right on the water. There were lil crab crossings at night…so adorable. CJ, the property manager, was the best. If I needed anything he was available 24/7. I can’t wait to go back. I’ll def be returning on my next visit.

This property was exactly how described. No surprises. Very clean and functional.

Only thing I would improve on is new mattresses throughout. Very uncomfortable sleep. However, the property owner contacted me prior to arrival and told me the mattresses were poor.

poor management, poor communication

We chose this property for it location and amenities. The location was great. Unfortunately we arrived a couple days after hurricane Zeta. We were not told that there was no internet or cable. The property was extremely muddy. The boat house was wet and muddy. The entire deck was in similar condition. The deck/pier is in need of repair. There were multiple warped boards that could be a hazard, especially at night. Some of the lights on the pier were out. When we arrived, all of the furniture was placed on the countertop to prior to the storm. We had to do a lot of heavy lifting and moving furniture to make it livable. We contacted management who said he recently got cable restored at his home. He said he didn’t know it was reserved for the weekend. He was not one bit apologetic about the absence of cable or wifi, nor did he care that the place was not ready to receive guests. He told us he would call us back the following day regarding cable and internet restoration, but we never heard from Al again! I must admit the property location was perfect. We will definitely visit the area again, but not the same property.

Improvements required

This property has lots of potential if needed improvements are made. Entry steps are rotted and dangerous, boards on walkways are rotted Stay March 15 thru and loose making people subject to trip and fall. Inside the property too many lightbulbs are out. Cooking pots and pans are worn out and should be replaced. Inspite of these problems it’s a great location, it’s clean and very comfortable. My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay. AC can't handle heat

Cabin itself was nice. AC COULD NOT HANDLE HEAT. Every night we stayed reached 86 degrees by 8pm. Even when we were out all day. Made every night miserable.

We had fun being on the water, but with the bad weather the power was out more than it was on. It took what feels like forever for the guest contact to get back with us, when he did he mentioned “it’s out of his control” I get weather isn’t in anyone’s control but replying 12 hours later isn’t okay in my opinion.. Should may invest in a generator for the property to avoid that. We left a day early because of it being so humid inside the house.

Disappointing!

Place was cute and great location. Was hopeful it would be great when we received two emails regarding information on the house including check-in/out, lock box codes, house rules etc about a week before arrival and a couple days prior. We were staying Sat. to Sat. Right away things didn't go as planned. The lock box # listed on both emails for the house was incorrect and had to call the company. We walked into the house and was hit with a strong smell of fish. (Had to get bleach at the store and bleach it everyday) Right away the kids tried to log on to the WiFi with the password that was listed both on the sign on counter and listed in the information book. It would not connect. We called the company eventually and was given a different password. Did not work, was told to reset the modem etc. Did not work. Was then told that they would put a service call in. This went on all week with no WiFi. Every day there was another reason. Thought it was fixed when didn't hear from us, Mardi Gras, they went there and it worked etc. We had 5 phones, 2 I pads and a laptop. Nothing worked. Finally the kids figured out on the last night that if they went to the boat launch by the bigger house on the property they could connect!! The pull out couches were a joke! Thank goodness it was just the kids sleeping on them and not adults AND we had brought 2 blow up mattresses! The cover that was on the first couch mattress was ripped and the mattress sagged in the middle!!! This was listed as a 6 person house and the couches were to be beds for 4 people- the kids didn't even want to sleep in them!! The only bed was in the bedroom which was comfortable but tall and had cheap sheets that would come off the mattress through the night! The third night one of the kids cut their finger pretty good on the center table in the dining area- chunk of laminate was missing and was super sharp. The Thurs. before we left, we tried cooking a pizza in the oven. (Through the week we used the stove top) The pizza was in the oven for over 2 hrs. We increased the degrees when we noticed it wasn't melting the cheese. We finally gave up after a cpl hours and took the pizza out with our hands!! When I text the management company, the reply was something along the lines of not hearing that before. All in all, disappointing BUT it was a roof over our heads, had hot water throughout our showers of 6 people and was a half hour a way from where we needed to go.

Great place for fishing

Cabin is clean and comfortable. I have stayed at cabins all around North America and this one is easily in top10. If you enjoy being on the water and accept the fact that fishing cabins are much different than homes...this is your place. Docks are perfect for boats up tp 22 feet, however the lifts need maintenance. The pullout beds and recliners need to be replaced. One suggestion to those that are not accustomed to iron rich water, bring plenty of bottled water. Overall it was a wonderful stay and future plans definitely include visiting this cabin again

Beautiful view, serene

Cabin was clean, kitchen was adequate, especially for a “do it yourself” family meal. Only downside was the WiFi is practically non-existant, and the water was off color. There is no washer dryer. We had no issues with privacy as we were all alone.
