Wonderful Family Getaway!
Publié le 26 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayFabulous views, wonderful fishing, easy access to the French Quarter, and a fun, comfy home! This house had it all! We took a quick trip to Rouses Market for locally sourced provisions and then settled in for our week away. Our teenagers took over the bunk room and our "tween" loved the second bedroom. Both bathrooms were fully stocked and much larger than expected. We took the kayaks and the John boat out for fishing and also dropped the crab pots each day. We were able to get bait right up the road at the marina and caught plenty enough for a crab boil. We spent one day exploring the French Quarter and also took a fun boat tour at Cajun Encounters. This house is truly in the middle of it all while still feeling like you are nestled in a quaint little village!

Lakeside escape

It was our second stay here and even though our trip was cut short by the hurricane it was still an amazing couple of days! The host was absolutely wonderful and stayed in touch about the weather and helped us through the process of having to leave early. We can’t thank him enough!

Publié le 5 août 2024 sur HomeAwayGood size place with beautiful views over marsh. Not quite as clean as expected with limited toiletries; however, contacted owner and quick responses and good communication. Catching blue crabs off dock was a special treat.

We usually have an over abundance of toiletries and sorry that was not the case this time. We addressed it with our cleaning crew and appreciate the feedback!

Beautiful

The house is clean, nicely decorated, easy check in, and the kitchen is very stocked, We loved the screened in porch and the private dock (our first time using crab traps). The outside area is peaceful and the view goes on for miles. We made trips into New Orleans and the Slidell area with no issues. Would stay here again.

Wonderful trip.
Publié le 3 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe caught a lot of crabs but not so much fish. Only one big red fish and a few small croakers and small trout which we threw back in the lake. We saw two alligators also. We will definitely rent again.
