Check in time was supposed to be 4 pm. We arrived early at 2:30. Was told there were no early check ins available and that they would put our name on the list and call us when our room was ready. We waited in the lobby for HOURS along with many other people. By 5 pm, we had to go change and get ready for our concert in the car. Had to take all of our luggage back up 3 flights of stairs because the elevator didn’t work. I didn’t get a call for our room being ready until 6:15. No apology offered. I get it was a busy weekend but they should have been prepared! The room and hallways smelled like smoke. Dirty carpet stains throughout the room. Do not recommend.

The breakfast was good and it is a walkable location. I would stay here again, the gym was small but had a nice space for 2 people to workout. The suite was very nice especially for people who need room for 2 people.

Great Stay, Great Location!
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at downtown Sonesta. It was a great location. The French Quarters/Bourbon Street was just a few blocks away. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Whenever I needed anything for my room, it was provided within 5 minutes or less. The cabinets in the kitchen area are a peel and stick material, not the best, however, this was not a deal breaker for me.

Concerning our stay in 1406 and 1106. This facility has the worst attendee staff. They are unprofessional and unwilling to assist. The room was not fully equipped with all the amenities that comes with the suite. There were ANTS EVERYWHERE in room 1406. We had to quickly get them under control. The toilets barely flushed and the phone in room 1106 was not working. Also, a request to have my rooms cleaned as the request made within the allotted 24 hour time frame. We consistently had to go back and forth to the front desk for services that should have already been meet. I am unhappy with this stay.

It was an okay experience overall. However, I had a small problem with getting clean towels after asking several times, going to the front desk and calling by phone. I was told they would bring them to the room but after an hour of waiting I still how no towels. I addressed the issue with the front desk. She gave me towels from the front front so I do not understand why that was not done upfront. I feel they need a better process for getting customers items that should be included in the stay.
