I will definitely return to the Stanford. Great service, room, breakfast. So easy to get to subway for Broadway plays. Neighborhood restaurants were amazing. 2 block walk from Penn Station so perfect for those flying into JFK. The staff were awesome. See you next February!

'Trial of The UNETHICAL' by L.A. WOVz

Staff at Stanford front desk overnite and backoffice 'planted' staff are all highly unethical, discriminates against 1st visit' patrons using third party booking to save money protect their financial details.Then tries get customers sign an open or hypen-dated future card authorization. ...for security deposit on a pre-paid in advance booking.... without explicit consumer consent-" stating its for hotel safety like a fire or burglary. All patrons should be treated professionally and ethically with regard to FTC regulations. When patron reqst direct cancel of future 'pay in at hotel' 4 days prior because staff 'refuse to turn over unreclaimed property' Manager shld resolve on spot directly once upset patron says they are going to shop other hotels not keep booking were thieves may be employed. (Manager went so far as to show text of maid insisting she did find any items while i had proof it was hanging behind bathroom door on hook which same desk 'mgr' thuyten refuse to relay to maid as they seem more interested in getting the other maid in trouble with housekeeping manager after wkend) Overnite mgr isnt a manager and sierra denied cancel as of her shift ending and it not being done day prior so not her problem according to ciarra who is fairly new . All this unprofessional passing of proper service in hospitality is unbelieveable.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in the heart of New York City, this hotel offers a convenient and practical option. Situated right next to the Empire State Building and within walking distance of Madison Square Garden, Times Square, and some of the city’s best pizza spots, its location is ideal for those who want to explore NYC with ease. The hotel itself is somewhat tucked away, with a small entrance that might be easy to miss. Upon entry, you’ll find a front desk with attentive service. Adjacent to the hotel is a stylish lounge bar with a welcoming atmosphere, offering food and drinks—more suited for solo travelers or groups of friends rather than a traditional family stay. The rooms are compact but functional, equipped with plenty of charging ports, making them ideal for brief stays. This isn’t a place designed for lounging in your room all day, but it serves its purpose well as a spot to shower, recharge (both yourself and your devices), and head back out into the city. Cleanliness is not an issue—there were no signs of pests, and despite New York’s reputation, no rats were spotted in the vicinity. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, with minimal guest interactions, adding to the sense of privacy. While the hotel provides the basics, don’t expect breathtaking city views from your window—at least not from rooms like 301 on the third floor. The space is small, and if you’re planning to stay with family, checking for larger room options would be advisable.
Going to a Knicks game? You can literally walk for 2 minutes and see the entrance. (6 min walk overall.

Maids take personal items left in room prior 60day

Maidz enter even with privacy tag and note for 1hr late departure sayg note was not left overnight mgr may have forgot to key due to talking with nextdoor club worker which shouldnt be issue when security guards front desk overnight.

Small, clean, no amenities

The room was small, and the creature comforts were minimal. Television didn't work (customers shouldn't be required to have a subscription to a streaming service to use the TV) but I wasn't their to watch the tube. Heating was erratic. But it was clean, especially the bathroom, which I appreciated. Good for one person, but I wouldn't have wanted to share it with someone else. Would've been too cramped. Still, close to where I needed to be in the morning, so it suited my purposes for that day.

Only “complaint” which doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things is the water pressure on the 12th floor is so light. Assume it’s part of the deal for a historic building and for being so centrally located, so it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for my next visit. Enjoyed the vesper martini and grilled cheese at barcode, and all the staff were friendly and very helpful/accommodating.

Good Choice for NYC

The hotel was right by MSG where we had tickets. The staff was so nice and they had a nice doorman. The breakfast is a little lacking, basically bagels and oatmeal, but it was better than nothing. I would like to stay in new parts of NYC next time, but i could definitely see myself staying here again.
