Beautiful View
Publié le 19 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here. The home is absolutely gorgeous and the view of the lake is beautiful. It was very clean and had all the conveniences that you could want.
Easy access to the lake for kayaking and swimming. We definitely will make plans to return in the warmer weather to enjoy the lake. The owners are very accommodating!😊

Wonderful relaxing stay
Publié le 4 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The house was very cozy and so very clean. We had so much fun with the kayaks and enjoyed a lot of swim time. The hill was a doozy at times but we all needed a little exercise. It was a blast!!!!

Relaxing Getaway
Publié le 28 août 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband and our 2 kids stayed at the cottage at the end of August. The place was clean, well equipped and big enough for a family of four. We had fun swimming, boating, hiking (nearby) and camp fires. The hill walking to and from the beach was not a problem for us. Schroon Lake was super close to eat meals, get ice cream, and find souvenirs. The house is located near a semi busy road and you can hear trucks/cars go by, so bring a sound machine for night if you are light sleeper. It really wasn’t a big deal for us but thought it would be worth mentioning.
Overall, had a lovely time and would go back!

Nice Place!

Unit is clean, modern and has all the in-door creature comforts you need - all the natural beauty of the Adirondacks are right out side your door. We enjoyed having a private dock and used our boat daily for fishing, tubing & just enjoying the beauty of Paradox Lake. Had some wonderful campfires at the fire pit. Steve & Liz were great hosts - friendly & helpful (even left s’mores stuff for our kids). Yes, the hill is steep, but if you can handle climbing 3 or 4 flights of stairs you should be capable of walking up the hill. Would love to go again!

Lovely Place with Water Views
Publié le 7 août 2023 sur HomeAwayThe cottage was very clean and nicely furnished but we had no idea that the walk to the water was so steep, that both bathrooms were on the main floor (no bathroom in upstairs bedroom) and that the hot water had to run in the bathroom in order to get hot water to flow from the kitchen. The owners were very responsive to the water issue.
We are seniors so while the description of the cottage was accurate, these were important omissions to older renters. We were gratefully informed before arrival that the dock was under water. There also was no beach because of the water level.
This would be a great place for younger people in good physical shape.
The owners were very communicative and pleasant in every way while we were there and the cottage is very lovely and conveniently located.

We are happy you had an opportunity to visit our cottage. Wish the weather could have been better for you. I appreciate the feedback regarding the hot water and the plumber determined that there was a problem and repaired it after you left. The instant hot water heater is only a year old ,so it was a minor repair. I will review the pictures that are on the web site so one can see that the second bedroom is up the spiral staircase and note that the two bathrooms are on the same floor. The photos do show a walk/path to the beach which is approximately 500 feet.. There is a gradual decline going down the hill. The severe rain events in New York and Vermont left record rain falls and destruction. The lake still remains high with a small portion of the beach now exposed. Can't stop mother nature. Hopefully the younger visitors had an opportunity to enjoy the kayaks and the paddleboards we had available and of course a fire by the fire pit with smores!

Paradox Lake vacation

The walk to the lake was a bit long and difficult for senior citizens (2 of 4). Because of high lake water the dock could not be used which was a little disappointing. Nevertheless we enjoyed ourselves and relaxed and went on multiple nearby excursions. Our dog / poodle enjoyed himself as well. It was a worthwhile vacation.
