While the furnishings were not "antiques" they were old enough to add to the bygone era atmosphere of the facility. The breakfast was sufficient and served in a well lighted dining room which overlooked a small garden ; it could also be taken to the porch tables. The neighborhood is lovely and within walking distance to the train to NYC. The staff were very nice and accommodating.

Beautiful, quaint old inn with lovely breakfast, friendly staff. Surrounding neighborhood of downtown Summit is pretty and has dining and shopping options within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again.

Really nice, clean but a bit dated
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HotelsThe staff is super friendly and the place is very clean and charming. We really enjoyed our stay. However, the house is very old and it felt like the floor was going to fall through at times. I think some kind of upgrade is necessary.

A perfect stay

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff. They went over and beyond to make us comfortable. We will definitely return.

Not great customer service
Publié le 26 juill. 2024 sur HotelsWe arrived there at about 7 pm. I had called the day before and spoke with Rachel. I told her that I was having surgery and that I wanted everything on the bed changed because I did not want to get an infection. We spoke and agreed that I had booked the queen size bed through Hotels.com. It was room number 5. When we got there we were assigned to room number 9, which had a double bed. Robert helped us out a lot. He called Rachel and she said that she did not make any changes, but to compensate us with $40 cash. That’s nice, but I didn’t want to sleep on a small bed after having surgery. So Robert suggested that we maybe could move to room number 1 the day after my procedure. In the morning before we headed out, we spoke with Rachel, who didn’t seem to care about the issue.I didn’t want to have to change my room either, but guess what, that’s not what we booked.She was kinda condescending to us really. BAD customer service for sure. My husband forgot to grab my pocket book from the room, so when we got back from the surgery, he went to ask for it. The cleaning crew had found it on room 9 and put the name of the person who was supposed to stay in room 9 that evening. Well guess what. It wasn’t our name, so we knew that Rachel did in fact change the rooms. Why would they have a different name if not?
The place was clean, but needs updating for sure. Robert made our stay very pleasant.
He truly is a gem. Hard working and kind to everyone. Thanks to him I felt at ease about stayin

As the managers of the DeBary Inn, we sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced with your room assignment. Upon investigating with Hotels.com, we discovered some discrepancies between our system and your confirmation.Initially, you booked Room 9 with order #267863634 and then changed to Room 5 on 6/29 with order #267865578. However, Room 5 was already booked by another guest before 6/29. Consequently, our system retained your booking for Room 9 and sent an error message back to Hotels.com. Unfortunately, Hotels.com showed that you had canceled Room 9 and booked Room 5 instead.According to our system log, Rachel did not make any changes to your room assignment. The miscommunication originated from the Hotels.com platform, which should have notified you that Room 5 was unavailable and that you still had Room 9.To accommodate your situation, we reimbursed you and moved you to a larger room on the second night. Rachel also ensured that Room 9 was thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. Despite the confusion, we compensated you for the difference between the two rooms.We strive to make all our guests happy and hope this explanation clarifies the room arrangement issues.
