Publié le 21 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe came to Michigan from Texas for three weeks, looking for cool weather in August. The cottage was supplied with the necessities. We enjoyed reading or having a glass of wine on the patio while watching the river. It was peaceful on weekdays as we watched the loons, eagles and herons. We also enjoyed watching the boaters, kayakers, and jet skiers on the weekends. The hosts could not have been nicer. They were close if you needed something, but not intrusive. While the cabin itself is all on one level, with both a tub and a step in shower, getting down to the cabin from the driveway is probably not for those with mobility issues. If you are staying a while, grocery stores, restaurants and shopping can be found less than 30 minutes from the cabin. There is one cafe almost right around the corner that serves a good breakfast. There is a little playground and shuffleboard court located next door but it sits back so that you don’t see it from the house. You can both swim and fish from the area around the house. While not fancy, it is nicely cared for and can be a fun, comfortable place to hang your hats for a few days.

Our annual vacation destination.

I enjoyed getting up first and sitting outside drinking coffee, reading a book, and waving to people going by on boats trying to catch fish. We brought our kayaks that we used on the river by the house and also on the other side of the dam. The weather cooperated and we had an amazing time! Rhonda, the host, was very responsive and helpful. Can't wait to go back next year!

Peaceful retreat
Publié le 18 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayProperty needs repair and upgrades, floor tiles loose and broken, no towel bar in bathroom, air conditioner in bedroom is loud. Sprinklers were turned on and soaked my wife when we were heading out to a birthday party with 70 people in attendance and no time to re-shower or change clothes. Concrete steps are awkward to navigate. Parking is tight. Not an optimum place for people with mobility issues of any kind.

Little getaway
Publié le 8 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe pictures looked just like the actual place. It was very cute and homey. Grocery store right near by was nice! I didn’t really realize how close you were to other people tho. We were there on a holiday weekend so lots of people on both sides and we had some kids who would run right by on the porch while we were sitting there and once while I was changing. I didn’t except that so I had the blinds open haha I pictured it a little more like having that area to ourselves. I was sad I didn’t bring a fishing pole cuz I saw some nice fish right there! The views were amazing. Would love to come back when the leaves change. We also went tubing at Wisners which was beautiful and peaceful.

Oh my! I apologize for the kids running across the patio! They definitely are not supposed to do that. The large deck area is a common area and due to the holiday weekend we had many visitors. Normally it is quieter. Please let me know when you are coming back for color tour and I will provide you a 10% discount!
