The ‘regular rubbish’ area was over flowing with bags of rubbish. The staff wasn’t very talkative and I was quite turned off by this. An elder gentleman who checked in before me card wouldn’t work on the door to his room, he came back to reception and the lady rolled her. Eyes, it’s not hard to smile, smiles are free so is kindness.

Very easy check in & all staff (reception & housekeeping) were always friendly yet professional. Will stay again. Room was very clean.

Had sewerage smell in bathroom. Stains on doona cover. Milk in fridge frozen. Black mould in jug. Alarm went off on first night - continued for some time.

A Poor Experience at the Ibis Newcastle NSW

After alot of trouble with the rate quoted and charged and after complaining to the CEO I received a small refund and was told to book directly with ACCOR which was not available. I appreciated Hotel.com did the right thing & gave me the difference. I told everyone including the front desk as we were booking I am a regular patient at the local hospital and normally drive back and forth but this time had 2 appts back to back. I live in a rural community. However, when we checked in I specifically asked for a quiet room not facing the busy main road. We got a corner room facing the busy road and it was noisy all night. I'm sure the hotel was not full.

Room was very cold / air conditioner did not work no extra quilts / very uncomfortable bed / very uncomfortable night / someone smoking in the room set off fire alarms so motel had to be evacuated at mid night / and yes it was warmer outside than in my room / very disappointing and uncomfortable stay

Friendly and accommodating staff. All I wanted was a room to sleep in and have a shower and this was perfect for that.

Both afternoon and next morning front office personnel were great. They were helpful and friendly. The option of having breakfast was great and the microwave facilities were a bonus. Thank you.
