Guests should realise that the cheaper rooms are not just smaller, but can be a very long way from facilities, very close to wear all the glass gets discharged into rubbish trucks and lorries drive up to unload deliveries. So pay a lot more and probably still get woken up by noisy party goers and planes taking off as from 06.15

Hello, Andrew Michael, i am so sorry you had issues with the small twin room. You did message the hotel on Expedia messaging to express you very unhappy with the room. I did respond offering a room move to a larger twin room in the main building for your 2nd night. Please accept our apologies.

Just a quick overnight stay with walkable access from hotel to the racecourse. Staff all very helpful and will definitely stay again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Postives were that the room was comfy, good parking and its well positioned for going into newcastle or out to the coast. The leisure facilities were in my opinion better/no different than those at some much more expensive spas (nice changing rooms for example with easy to use locker system) Down sides: They charge £5 per person per day for the spa- which isnt advertised in expedia. This could add up if you have a family/staying a while. The housekeeping barged in on one day- almost v embarrassing 😳 despite me not having requested a clean. As a single female traveller i was initially worried another guest had the key to my room..but thankfully not. The decor is a little dated- but its fine.
