Avis Enfield Manor

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review so soon after your tiring flight back to the west coast. There were indeed some unfortunate factors which affected your stay and we sympathize with your plight: 1.You arrived at the start of the very uncomfortable and untimely heatwave, followed by a vicious storm which damaged one of our beautiful old Maple trees. Fortunately the heavy limb fell alongside your rental car but it did shatter the back window. We offered to transport you wherever necessary, even to your relative who lives a 1 1/2 hours drive away. We are glad that the rental company replaced the car within a few hours so that you could still make the planned trip. 2.Unfortunately Expedia included breakfast for Mallard Cottage; This has in the meantime been corrected. We fully acknowledged this error and offered you free breakfast for three throughout your stay and even brought the first breakfast to the cottage as a courtesy because of your late arrival the evening before. Mallard is an independent vacation rental with a fully equipped kitchen and grocery stores (Wegmans and Trader Joes) are only 5 miles down the road. Further to your comments:We accommodated your late arrival and took 10 minutes of your time to point out some practical aspects in the cottage to make your stay more comfortable; I have no knowledge of hour long lectures about the environment nor of being nosy. Enfield Manor observes green practices where possible and we make our guests aware of this but leave them free to join us in this effort.The "comforter" on the bed is a duvet, a much more hygienic alternative as the cover can be taken off and washed between guests. The bed had a fitted sheet over a mattress protector and pillows with protectors and pillow cases. There was a top sheet in the closet in case you wished to use one. The pictures of our rooms are made by myself with my cellphone and are totally genuine. Moreover, the listing on Expedia includes the square footage of all accommodations and in case of Mallard it excludes the large enclosed deck. In short; We have done our level best to accommodate you and your family. (I think your son enjoyed feeding the goldfish.....)We wish you all the best and hope that you will find suitable accommodation in the future.

Dear guestThank you for taking the time to write us a review.We are glad that the room you had intended to book became available due to a last minute cancellation!The room that you had booked, the Alex Haley Room has a PRIVATE bathroom literally three steps from the bedroom door and is as popular with guests as the Harriet Tubman Suite. People book for different reasons and this is probably one of the cheapest accommodations available on Expedia.We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Enfield Manor and hope to see you back some time.

Many thanks for your lovely review!We are glad that you highlighted our strategic location; With downtown Ithaca and three State Parks, all with beautiful hiking trails and gorgeous waterfalls as well as the Senaca and Cayuga wine trails within a 10 mile radius we can not complain!
