Beach Life On A Budget!
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayDave's house is a no frills home in a perfect location. The listing pictures are accurate. The home needs some maintenance and should get rid of the carpet, but I can overlook that for the price and the area. It's only one home from the beach and you can hear the waves from the large patio. It is walking/biking distance to the pier, restaurants (Zabb Thai lunch special!), grocery store, donuts, coffee, etc. It's an easy bike ride to Huntington Beach. The area is pretty quiet. The owner is a nice man. We brought our own bikes, so I can't speak to the condition of the bikes or other beach stuff he provides for free. Take note, the home across the street was just torn down, so expect some construction noise in front of the patio. I'd rent this home again.

Nice Stay
Publié le 23 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a good stay. The location is great, just a few steps away from the beach. Love that they have multiple bikes, beach stuff, and even wetsuits for our use. The place was clean and cozy.
The only “con” would be that they instruct the guest to do two loads of laundry before leaving. One for towels and one for bedding. It’s just too much when your trying to pack and clean before leaving at 11am.

Great Location
Publié le 11 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat location. The only things I didn’t like was being told to do the laundry (bed linens and towels). I also thought it was weird that I was asked to move my car at least twice a day with no set times. I wasn’t there to stay in the room. Other than that I would definitely return.

Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe met Dave right away and he gave us a run down on all of the amenities; bikes, umbrellas, chairs, etc. He was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. The house was super spacious and didn't have a bunch of clutter like some houses we've stayed at before. We appreciated this since we had our whole family with us and came with our own stuff. We loved the location - super close to the beach and walking distance to a few of our favorite restaurants. We will certainly be back!

Perfect location!
Publié le 24 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayOverall, it’s a great place to stay. Really great location, but the parking situation actually sucks. Very limited parking options which made the week pretty irritating. If you are able, only bring one vehicle. You’ll have a much nicer stay. That being said, we’re not city dwellers, so being in a crammed, busy place with zero personal space was way, way outside our comfort zone. Having nowhere to park was probably just our rural perspective, but it was most irritating.
The only other negative is the bikes. While we very much appreciated having bikes available, the bikes were all broken and unsafe to ride. If you plan on riding bikes, which you 100% should because it’s a beautiful place to ride around, either bring your own or find some to rent. The bikes here are not really useable.
Walking distance to some decent places to eat and the beach is literally a 30 second walk from the front door.

Second Time Stay
Publié le 19 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayEnjoyed our stay at Dave’s place. Perfect location, steps from beach and a quick bike ride (bikes provided) from Boardwalk and Newport Pier. The house is in good shape, beds are comfy, and air mattresses help spread sleepers out. The only gripe is the carpet has seen better days. Dave was great and checkin/communication was quick and easy. He even went out and bought a new propane grill when we had trouble getting the old one lit! This place is a hidden gem and a tremendous value!

Perfect Location

We loved being able to walk over to the beach or ride the bikes to the pier for shopping and eating. Our beds were so comfortable. Dave was amazing at quick to respond to any questions we had. This was such a fun and relaxing vacation for us.
