Nice structure by baddly maintained

Posted Jul. 29, 2017 on Hotels
In a wood, very quiet location. Very nice design and structure, especially the huge beautiful outdoor garden with glass roof. However, it is very badly maintained. The room is dirty, especially the bathroom is filthy. The air con doesn't work, even open the patio door at night, the cool air doesn't really cool down the room and the air is stuffy.

Unique decor and surroundings

It is one of a kind, definitely to be experienced. It is the high end hotel in the region, though it may change in the near future with several new constructions going on.

Perfect hotel to visit Jiuzhaigou

Posted Mar. 29, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is impressing, the decoration of rooms are wonderful. The personal does not have a good level of English language and is difficult to communicate. Breakfast is wonderful because it has windows to a forest...The personal is kind and nice. The Jiuzhaigou park is the most beautiful you can ever see...staying in this hotel is perfect for this visit. Try to stay at least 2 nights.

A place where you can find serenity

Posted Jan. 22, 2017 on Hotels
It's considered to be the best hotel in the area. The view from the hotel and amenities are super amazing. Even tho its far from the airport and far from most of the tourist spots, you can still have an awesome stay here.

A hotel that spoilt my holiday

Posted Nov. 1, 2016 on Hotels
This must be the worst hotel I have ever stayed before. The service is very bad throughout everywhere in this large hotel! Upon arriving at hotel doorstep, male staff (doorman, porter) could not be bothered to help with our luggage nor welcome greeting nor simple guidance to the concierge. On morning of check out, called reception to ask for porter help with luggage from room, were told no staff available. At check-out counter only one staff struggling to attend to guests. She looked so tired and could not be bothered to answer questions from hotel guests. Standard of food and service at restaurants poor and real disappointment after a great day of sightseeing outside. Especially the Chinese restaurant which serves the tasteless and pathetic looking duck soup (to be exact, scraps-of-duck bone soup) at Rmb500 plus is a real rip off. I really regret booking 3 nights stay in this hotel. The experience is so bad I probably will never book another InterContinental Hotel again.

It was a disappointed stay comparing to other Intercontinental Hotel I stay before. The condition of the room is very run down. Next, upon my checking, I show the receptionist and the supervisor my confirmation with Hotel.com, the room is totally paid. They have taken 4 days not able to verify. And ask me to verify with the agent instead. This is totally not accepted. Told the Duty Manager 19 Oct. that I refuse to pay, they have to verify. I left the hotel, however they call me up, and confirm the room is paid.

Jiuzhaigou Hotel

Posted Aug. 23, 2016 on Expedia
Brilliant building in a spectacular mountain setting with lovely rooms. The standard of English in the hotel staff was poor to non-existant. We went with my son who speaks excellent Chinese and without whom we would have been stranded. Our first bedroom toilet was blocked so we changed room but nobody told anyone so we were accused of being in the wrong room. The hotel would not let me use my credit card to post bills to my room so we paid cash. The air on did not function in any of the three rooms we had. Lights didn't work and the cleaning staff were hopeless. Plastic bags and crisps under the sofa cushions and black mouldy shower mats. Vacuum cleaners are not used except in severe cases so the rooms are not clean under foot. The breakfasts were good though the bar/restaurant food was poor. The Sichuan restaurant food was unreservedly exquisite but no order there was delivered correctly. The hotel is 13 miles from Jiuzhaigou park and the traffic through the town is chaotic. The taxi arranged for the return fare to the park was 150 Kwai and the airport 40 miles away was 260. We though both of these quite reasonable. We loved the area and all of the Tibetan influence. The hotel was a brilliant design and with accomplished staff would be brilliant. After initial disappointment we still had a good time and finding somewhere better in the area would be hard.
