Publié le 28 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayProperty owner boasts of amazing breakfast that you have to pay for despite property advertised as a bnb. No staff at property unless you order breakfast so you basically stay in a shared house without services. Poor neighborhood and outside of property not maintained. Location is very close to park, so made up for lack of attentiveness of host who was out of country.

Yes, as we clearly point out before you book ( and this information then allows YOU to decide whether we are for you) breakfast is extra. This is because the majority of guests don’t want breakfast everyday and therefore we remove that from the calculation of room rates. We are, as a result, $40 less per night than we would otherwise be. Flexibility and savings. Quite the win for good ol negative Nelly. As for the owner not being on the premises. Yep. We have lives and every now and then we have to go else where. Totally selfish. But the best part of me not being there was because I’d had a heart attack and was being treated. Bless you. Sorry I inconvenienced you. Instead of me being upstairs, you had Kevin, who would happily have served breakfast. And who you would have seen in the house all day every day. So it’s not that no one was there at your beck and call. Quite the opposite. No apparently you include the owner as part of your entertainment package. Here’s the thing from your review- I wouldn’t have liked you therefore you and I wouldn’t have hung out having drinks on the porch.
Thank you for clarifying for future guests. No im not always available. Yes breakfast is extra. Yes we are much cheaper than surrounding accommodations. Yes Niagara is as we advertise-inexcusably poor and if you want affluence you’ll need to book Canada. And personally I love my rambling garden

Publié le 25 août 2024 sur HomeAwayI recommend getting the breakfast it was absolutely amazing! Rooms and bathrooms were very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and they provide extra blankets and towels if you need them! We very much enjoyed our trip! Thank you for everything!

Great Hidden Gem

It was very cool to experience a stay similar to how it would’ve been way back when… The house is full of unique surprises and authentic decor. The hostess is wonderful and considerate. The outdoor porch is a nice cozy place to read a book, have some tea, or just enjoy the breeze. The room rates are great for all that you get. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone, but especially those that are fascinated with history.

The house and stay were wonderful. The house is stuck back in time. Which I truly enjoyed because it didn’t feel like a hotel and it felt like a house. I loved sitting on the front porch with all the flowers and plants around. We didn’t get to meet the owner but the caretaker was super nice. It was fine using the old style locks and hidden bathroom. I would definitely come back here again.

Crap Hole
Publié le 8 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe did not stay at this property, after waiting 25 minutes for someone to let us in (no code furnished by the owner) we called our cab driver and had him take us to the Fairfield in about 2 miles away. When we initially arrived our cab driver cautioned us about going out after dark due to the deplorable nature of the neighborhood. The porch where we waited for 25 minutes was filthy, the furniture on the porch was covered w/ sheets that were so disgustingly dirty we did not want to sit on them. We called the property owner to let her know we could not get into the property, she told us that her employee was in the house cleaning and would be there directly to let us in. No one was in the house evident by the employee that showed up 25 minutes later. We did not even get the common courtesy of a call back from the property owner after we called a 2nd time and left a message that we were still on the porch and no one was around. We were also cautioned by the cab driver that a person that was wondering around the neighborhood while we waited was a person to "definitely stay clear of." We have stayed in numerous VRBO properties over the years and this Crap Hole was exactly that, a Crap Hole w/ poor or better said, non existent management.

No surprise from the person who changed his arrival time from after we close to before we open to finally providing a time so late that staff had to come in their personal time. And as they live two minutes from the front door they were there at 4.12. You messaged of your arrival at 4.06.
The three upholstered couches have brand new ( have receipts) throw rugs and pillows. All from bed&bath. Thank you for showing your lack of taste.
As for poverty. We advertise that ALL of the American side of Niagara Falls is inexcusably impoverished. We are lucky to be three minutes from the restaurant district and 7 minutes walk to the state park.
Even though staff - 2 of them - greeted you- you decided to leave without Vrbo’s support.
We have never had an issue before but then again all previous vrbo guests have complied with arranging their arrival time for when we are open.
Your review shows how miffed you were when we said that checking in that early or late would involve paying staff 20 measly dollars for them to facilitate your request in their personal time.
Regardless of your payback review, I will never ask staff who are human beings - to work for arrogant, entitled douche bags for free.
Get a life
Thank you for taking the time to leave a spoilt brat review. We feel we dodged a bullet when you didn’t check into our historic bed and breakfast.
