A unique experience
Publié le 5 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis property was not at all what we expected, but we did enjoy our stay, mostly because the hostess, Kathryn, was very knowledgeable about the property and area, and was entertaining as well. She brought the property to life, and I did take many photos. I did not understand that breakfast was not included ($50 for two of us) but it was beautifully laid, worth the price, and outstanding fare (she even made delicious eggs on request), and we are glad we stayed for it. Also, there were only two baths available for a number of rooms (I thought we had a private one) and understandably the wait was long. We had a great time, and would recommend the property, as long as the guest understands the bath and breakfast situations. A quirky, fun experience. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to message the hostess - she was responsive.

You did not read what you booked and created a fantasy listing and expectations of a white clinical hotel which is the exact opposite of what we are.
In fact you decided you were entitled to turn up an hour after previous guests had left and wanted an unreasonable early check in. You actually said over the phone while demanding entry that we had falsely advertised and used misleading descriptions. VRBO did not agree with you. For example we clearly state our hours. We clearly state the quirkiness of our civil war property and we clearly state shared bathrooms. Oh. And we clearly state ( and flier on your bed) the cost of breakfast.
What you also didn’t read was we live here so your rude, entitled arrogant passive aggressive stay was shared with the owner that you had abused on the phone before your arrival…….
Vrbo had our back. We are exactly as we describe. Exactly as our photos. You didn’t even bother to read the tourist Information we send you. Instead at the same time as abusing us on the phone, you wanted us to be your personal concierge.
Future guests. Don’t be a Karen. Read what you book. Communicate and take responsibility for your actions and decisions.

Hotel.com provided misinformation
Publié le 8 oct. 2021 sur HotelsWe chose not to stay. Hotels.com led us to believe this room had a private bath and that was NOT the case. The proprietor was very cordial and very apologetic that we were misled. The neighborhood was questionable and didn’t feel safe. We would like to be refunded for this booking and we are not sure how to make this happen with Hotel.com

Excellent stay and location if you're coming for Niagra Falls!

The room and both bathrooms were spotless and comfortable. Easy 10 minute walk to the falls and Maid of the Mist tour! Also, not even a 3 minute walk to the restaurant district.
I do highly recommend the breakfast if the host is offering it. It was decadent...yes, decadent!
