This apartment on Promenade des Anglais is on the top floor (5) of a beautiful Belle Epoque building directly across from the stretch of (rocky) beaches.
(Some public/free, others cost to rent umbrellas etc). The apartment was immaculate, ultra-modern, though sparsely furnished. Exactly as pictured. Landlady Mireille lives nearby and speaks some English. She asked that we meet her in front of the gate (confusing, there are a couple) to give us courtyard keys, building keys, apartment keys. She gave us a tour of the apartment and answered our questions. There is helpful info in the apartment re how things work, public transport etc. Two tram stops are five minute walks in either direction on the street behind the building. No noise from trams but some Promenade traffic noise - not a bother. Beautiful views of the sea from two windows, one is a small balcony. Very good cross-ventilation as the apartments go front to back. Two apartments to a floor; very quiet inside. Kitchen was fairly well equipped but there is no clothes dryer, just a washer. Hooks along the hall for towels, jackets. We had to buy more toilet paper. Toilet room is off the entry and very tiny. Bathroom is spacious with an excellent glassed-in shower. Beds are comfy. The neighborhood is working class; a few small eateries, bakery a third of a mile away. Small grocery stores nearby. Negresco Hotel is 1.3 miles up the Promenade to give you an idea of location. Lovely stay; outstanding view! Highly recommended.
