Voyage en famille

Points forts : Propreté, commodités et état et installations de l’hébergement.
The room itself was very nice, and it worked well for our family of 4. Everything is new, and the space is stylishly designed, which is sometimes hard to find in smaller towns in Japan.
The challenge is the property is a 10-15 minute walk, along a main road, to any restaurant or cafe, etc. There's a 7-11 nearby, but apart from that, you're alongside a busy road and a highway off-ramp ... and not much else.
If you have a car, this is no issue. But for us, with two young kids, and of course luggage, it was a bit of a challenge.
We had to plan our days, particularly with limited food options in Nikko, where many restaurants open till 2pm, close for several hours, then reopen at 5:30pm, etc. This is not a huge issue, but it's something to think about, again, particularly if you have young children.
As many others have noted in other reviews of this property, the check-in process is a bit comical. Our reservation code didn't work - and after 15 minutes of trying to 'check-in' with someone via the in-room tablet, she said don't worry about it, as we're thankfully Japanese residents.
Anyway, thankfully the weather was nice - so we didn't mind the long walks to the center of town - and the place itself was great.
