Hi Marty - Thanks for your candid review. I wanted to clarify a few things that aren't quite accurate, and elaborate on a few things you left out. One, I went to great lengths to remedy the double-booking, which had nothing to do with extending another group's reservation. My cabin had been booked directly with me, and I had been unable to block the dates on the VRBO calendar due to a technical issue, which resulted in you being able to book it even though it shouldn't have been showing up as available. As you mentioned, I rented an ENTIRE WEEK from another owner in order to make it work for you to stay at the resort for ONE NIGHT. I risked losing a significant amount of money but I value my reputation and wanted to keep my word that I would do whatever I could to make your stay possible. Prior to finding the additional cabin to rent, I spent a few hours on the phone researching other options for you. I don't know what else you could expect in terms of going the extra mile. In your comment about the price, you are correct that VRBO service fees resulted in a higher rate than what you would have paid directly to the resort. However, you left out two important facts - one, the resort had no cabins available to rent (which is why I had to find another owner who was willing to rent me their week), and two, the resort has a two-night minimum stay, and you only wanted to stay for one night. To compensate you for the stress of being in limbo while I resolved the double-booking, I gave you full use of the cabin all day Saturday before the normal 4 pm check-in time, which is another accommodation you would not have been given by the resort. I'm sorry (again) that the double booking occurred, but I think I went way above the call of duty to resolve it, and I'm sorry those efforts weren't enough. While I gave you a 5-star rating in my review based on your cleanliness and communication, I would advise other owners to think twice about renting to you based on your attitude.
