We were in town to attend a 5:00 pm wedding. I called ahead of time and was assured we could get an early check-in so we would be able to change before the ceremony. When we arrived at the agreed time, we were told that our room wouldn't be ready until 4:00 pm. In fact, it wasn't ready until 4:30 pm. We had to change in the pool bathroom and barely made it to the ceremony on time. Don't trust them!

When we checked in, the lady there wasn't very friendly. Having a bad day, I don't know. Very grouchy. Our room smelled like smoke. Our door wouldn't close unless you rally slammed it shut. There was no ice machine in the hotel. You had to get it from the front desk. When you asked for ice, they made you feel like you were asking for diamonds. Also, no refrigerator in the room. The toilet also lifted off the floor if you moved even a little bit. Needs a little tightening. Just a lot of small things. Don't know if I would ever stay there again.

Beds needs to be replaced. Bedding was worn out. Blanket in room had holes, edges had been cut off roughly with scissors. Bed spreads were "thread bare". Bathroom sink had no plug.

The room was disgusting. It smelled of animal urine badly. There was hair in the shower. Specs of god knows what on the walls in the bathroom. The floor was disgusting. There was a splatter of white stuff on the TV that was never cleaned off. The sheets were super rough and didn’t fit the beds. And kept coming off the mattress. And when the front desk was asked about any of these things they made excuses as to how they could not make anything better…… There WAS a tiny potpourri pouch hanging in the room to try and “mask” the pee smell. It didn’t help. The hairdryer also seemed to have been ripped out of the wall and they never cared to fill the holes. Disgusting, disappointing and I’ll be emailing about a refund on my pet fee: since MY pet isn’t the one who made that room smell like that. GROSS.

Our sink in the bathroom would not drain, neither would the tub. Told the front desk about it and the said “ yeah, we know, we’ve tried everything and can’t fix it”. I asked why they would rent a room like this, they shrugged their shoulders and said that the owner needs to make the money from it…. Would never stay here again

Splurge and spend a little extra money to stay at a different hotel. The receptionist was very sweet, but this was one of the grossest hotels I’ve ever been in. After an hour of sitting in the hotel room, not wanting to set my bag anywhere or take my shoes off, I packed up and went to the AmericInn in Pequot Lakes, which is extremely clean. The Nisswa Inn & Suites has so much potential to be a lovely hotel. Someone needs to buy it and revamp, or the owners need to invest some time and money into it. I wish I had read all other reviews before wasting money.

Every room i've booked through Expedia, has had something wrong with it. What gives?! Last 1, pool had been down for months. MONTHS!! This place, hot tub is down. Do better Expedia!! Update your page.
