This was the best location in town next to the bridge ( which splits the town into two, with the best view from all its competitors right by the river .Bungalowsplaced apart for privacy ( not like the mandalo resort which we were interested in but just had lunch there). The restaurant which had great potential was a dark and uni Irina place ( a bit of colour needed perhaps some bright coloured tablecloths and some ethnic wall hangings). Breakfast was good.Room was large with a great balcony perfect for watching the world go by.Overall very good and great value but potential to be brilliant

Beautiful riverside bamboo huts
Publié le 8 janv. 2020 sur HotelsOverall lovely stay.
Large furnished balcony overlooking the river and cliffs. Very comfortable bed with mosquito net (not that we needed it during January). Very welcome air conditioning and an effective ceiling fan. Shower was very hot but water did not last long - not enough for two people showering one after the other. Staff were really helpful arranging our onward transport which was greatly appreciated. Wifi was decent even though our hut was a fair distance away from reception. Lovely manicured grounds with lots of flowers which was really pleasant to walk through.
The room itself is an individual bamboo hut. It is rustic, so there are gaps around the doors and in the bathroom. We did not experience unwelcome guests but it would definitely be possible so be aware of that. Despite the rustic feel, the room was very functional, comfortable and large.
One negative was the buffet breakfast which although had reasonable number of well cooked options, had no local food and appeared to be completely aimed at westerners (we love rice or noodles for breakfast!).

Bungalow view was breathtaking and location was great. My bungalow was large, clean, and private. In addition, the man who greeted me and helped with my bag was absolutely charming. My only issue was that I paid the hotel to book my tuk tuk and boat ticket to Muang Ngoi and although I got the tuk tuk ride to the boat, the hotel did not arrange my boat ticket so I had to pay the boat fare again a second time when I got to the boat. The boat fare was only about $2.50 so it was more of a nuisance than anything else. I would definitely stay again, I just wouldn’t pay them to arrange any additional transportation.

Restaurants right near the property burn plastic garbage day and night. The rooms are not sealed so this will make you extremely sick. I am sorry I didn’t check out of this property sooner, but it was paid for and consequently I had a miserable time sick until I moved.
A shame because it does have nice views, but if you can’t breathe the air it does you no good. I come from a major city in the US so I am no stranger to pollution but these are toxic fumes that begin before you arise and start again about 4 PM.

Recommend
Publié le 27 juin 2019 sur HotelsWonderful views from the room of nature and the river.
The wood floors were nice and the bed was super comfortable.
The only reason it does not get a perfect score is the bathroom. It was very small and only cold water.
I would totally recommend this place. The restaurant is also wonderful and not expensive.
