A place to feel safe and at peace with lovely view

Publié le 4 mars 2020 sur Hotels
The hosts from the moment we were greeted to showing us throughout the villa. Really felt at peace, a very private villa and home away from home. Would buy the property if I could!!!! Will definitely return

Everything was fabulous, but the view from villa 5 was to die for! Treat yourself & stay @ Shearwater, you won’t be disappointed.

Villa with a stunning view

Publié le 21 nov. 2018 sur Hotels
Firstly, it is not ön the beach"but on top of cliff as shown in photo. To access beach is precipitous cliff path, or short car drive. I am allergic to mosquitos and not all windows were screened and we had unwelcome "visitors"- also ants in the bed on three occasions and in my hair. Nothing was left that could have attracted them!!! Property is in glorious location, once you have mastered the very rough unmade tracks that are full of deep potholes. You know you have nearly arrived when you pass delapidated rundown sheds and farming equipment! Linen changed once a week . There is a washing machine in the unit's laundry. Gets dark by around 6.30 and there is no "street"lighting and so its quite an ädventure" to get in to town and avoid the deep potholes and animals/cows etc. who have right of way. We mostly self catered at night because of this. Our visit was for two weeks. One would have been enough.,. Norfolk Island has changed very little since I was last there 60 years ago! Be aware of high costs for petrol, food etc. A hire car is essential. Try to get car ïncluded". We didnt and it was a considerable additional expense. Also, regarding swimming pool? There is one but not for general use. It is attached to their premier accommodation. So, not on beach and no swimming pool, however, the view is fabulous and the location very peaceful.

Great villa No1 had best views

Publié le 21 oct. 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : The views very special.
Contre : Operating instructions for the oven.
Emplacement : A little out of town but views could not be matched. A visit to Bedrock café a must from a beautiful setting.
We selected Shearwater from the fabulous reviews and we were not disappointed we drove the whole island end to end and did not come across another establishment that we would swap it with. The holiday went smoothly from the time our guests met us at the airport supervised car hire and guided us back to the villa. The sea shores and headlands are amongst the best we have experienced. The only issues we had was with a number of the tour operator staff in the tour offices who could learn to be a little more friendly. But outside of that was a great holiday.

Tranquil setting with wonderful views

Publié le 5 août 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : Spacious, well appointed villa with friendly and very helpful hosts
Emplacement : Small island, lots lovely scenery, lookouts & buildings with interesting histories. Lots of restaurants, touristy attractions. Friendly "natives"
Were met at the airport by our hosts; it was a short drive to our secluded accommodation, with wonderful views over Kingston and Phillip Island. The villa had everything you could possibly need; the hosts provided us with lots of information to make our stay more enjoyable. Thank you Charisse, Melissa & William. Had a lovely relaxing week exploring the beautiful island and eating the tasty local food while being entertained by the locals.

You can't go wrong at Shearwater!

Publié le 18 avr. 2017 sur Wotif
We had the most amazing stay at Shearwater. You can't get better hosts.. they went above and beyond. Every morning we woke to a stunning view of Kingston. Our villa had everything we needed and more with unexpected, homely touches to welcome us. The villas are spacious and all with a great view, gorgeous surrounds and we were so sad to leave after our 7 days. We can only highly recommend Shearwater. We were so happy with our choice and look forward to returning again.

Pour : Everything !
Contre : A pen with the comment book. We didn't have an airer for washing.
Emplacement : I enjoyed the spa & the free produce.
Loved the privacy but still a close drive to Kingston and Burnt Pine. Management extremely helpful. Magnificent view from our villa. Villas not on top of each other. Villa for 2 very spacious and lacked nothing.

Amazing sea views

Publié le 4 mars 2017 sur Expedia
Pour : Hire car was included.A picnic basket was made available and this allowed us to take advantage of stopping at one of the many picnic spots
Contre : More cutlery and crockery in the villa would have been very useful.
Emplacement : This small island offers both great locations with amazing views and also has a very interesting history which can be explored.
Stayed on Norfolk Island for the first time at Shearwater where we had a lovely, private villa with amazing sea views. The staff were very helpful and the grounds around our villa were well maintained and full of flowers. The people we met were all very friendly, there were no concerns about any items being stolen - nobody locked up properties or vehicles often leaving expensive items on view ........ all of this meant it provided a wonderful place to stay and despite its location a very long way from our home in the UK - we will return!
