Publié le 3 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayI was very, very disappointed with this property. It was unkept and not lean. The refrigerator had bugs in it, all of the vents were very dirty. The back yard was terrible, the downstair rooms were horrible. The small bathroom was terrible and had toilet paper wrapped around the pipes. None of the kitchen pots and pans were worth using. I have stayed at many properties, but this was the worst I have seen. I will not stay there again. I paid too much for the kind of way this property was. Someone needs to spend a little on cosmetic upgrades to make this a nice stay for someone. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I sent an email with pictures to the text communication. I have not received a response. Thanks. Joyce

Joyce, We did not hear from you the entire trip except for the first day when you asked about the TV’s. If you had any other concerns, that would have been the time to mention anything and everything to us as we would have been happy to remedy any and all of your fixable concerns. However, these items were brought to our attention AFTER you checked out and now we are reading about them in a review. All mentioned items would have easily fixed if they were brought to our attention in a timely manner. Thank you for staying.

Publié le 14 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe kitchen pots and pans were old, rusty and unusable. Everything in the kitchen was dirty. The dishwasher was rusty with a smell of rotten eggs. The house could use some TLC.

Wonderful Experience
Publié le 28 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe recently spent a week at the Salty Mermaid and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness and thoughtful details throughout the property. We loved having direct access to the beach.
The house was spacious and comfortably accommodated our entire family. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living areas were cozy and inviting. We especially enjoyed the outdoor patio area where we spent many evenings watching the children play on the pool.
The location was ideal—quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to shops and restaurants when we wanted to venture out. The host was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay.
This house exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect beach getaway.

There were a number of outdoor lounge areas with plenty of comfortable seating. It was great to have a pet friendly home. Having owned a VRBO, I know what wear and tear occurs but when I mentioned a few things to the manager which were meant to be helpful, his response was a little spicy so we didn’t contact him again. The staff we did meet were very nice. The house was comfortable but does need some updates/attention.

Yes, this 2nd row pet friendly 6 bedroom 3 bath with a fence and pool is loved by many every year. Come again soon.

Salty Mermaid N Ocean Blvd SC
Publié le 28 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayPictures online VERY misleading. They must have been taken many years ago. Very run down. Smelled moldy. It didn't even have toilet paper holders in any of the bathrooms. Pictures showed nice grass yard, nope, dirt. Under the house is all dirt. Outside area had so much bird poop from bird's nest we had to block off the area. Outside furniture was nasty, we tried to clean it but it didn't help. Very outdated house that looks waaaaay better online then in reality. Tried calling management company several times, also sent a message online, they didn't respond until the day before we were leaving. We had a clogged kitchen sink for a day and a half. Had to use a toilet plunger to unclog. The pool area is a joke and was dirty. I will NEVER rent anything from them again and will also have to serious think about ever using VRBO again. Totally horrible vacation experience.

Amy, Thanks for staying. The kitchen sink was not clogged when you arrived as your request was made a few days into your trip. It was taken care of as soon as the plumbing maintenance vendor could arrive. Our vacation house is an older, well-loved, pet-friendly, family beach home that was built in the 1950’s and has been loved by many generations over the years. Photos were taken just last year. It is a large family home that is directly across the street from the ocean and beach access with an ocean view. Many families return year after year to our Cherry Grove beach house and honestly we don’t appreciate this review at all as it is not reflective in any way of our property, and is in retaliation for an individual’s expectations not being met. If anyone has any questions about this inaccurate review that represents one person’s opinion, please message us!
