We were in town for a wedding this past weekend. Wasn’t quite sure where to stay but wanted to be close to the venue. We were a little hesitant to stay at first because there was a low rating, but definitely would give our stay a 5 star. The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly!

Got in argument with manager upon check-in. Would have canceled booking if would have not been for only one night stay for business and the inconvenience. They up charged me because I ended up bringing my 2 kids. They wanted to charge me $10 each for my 16 year old and my wife. My youngest was 12 and under their charge threshold so they were going to make her the double occupant. I said my wife was the double occupant and I would not pay an extra $10 for her. They were just being petty and very impolite. After arguing several minutes they agreed just to charge for my 16 year old. Otherwise the hotel was clean enough for what it was, very basic. But, it was the closest place to where my work meeting was.

Thank you for staying with us and providing us with your feedback. Our Front Desk associate was just following the policy to register correct number of guests at check in. After checking with associate it was confirmed the charges were for only 1 person. Number of guests policy and the rate is displayed on Expedia.Hope this helps.

The staff and front desk are inflexible inhospitable jerks. They lie about the pool. It isn't open and never will be but they do not tell the customer the truth about that on their ads or when you call. They also take you credit/debit card to hold $200 when you check in but refused to give me any receipt of any kind upon checkout. They threatened to call the police on me when I insisted I wanted a receipt. They are the only hotel I have ever stayed in without an elevator, that will not give you a receipt of your stay and any charges or transactions or that refused a request for a later checkout time. They are not busy and will likely stay that way because of how they run the place. But the room was clean and nice.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.Firstly, you were informed regarding the pool prior to the check in. You then confirmed again on the following morning.Regarding the credit/debit card hold, it is standard practice to take a deposit at check-in. You asked for the receipt at check in and you were informed that the reservation was prepaid through Expedia and Expedia had already provided you with the receipt. You were also provided with the receipt for the incidental hold but there were no charges which is why there was nothing on it.You refused to understand the information provided to you by the staff. You then began to verbally abuse the staff and threaten them which is why they decided to call the police. You decided to leave before the officer arrived. We have shared the same details and the CCTV with Choice Hotels and will be providing this information to Expedia as well.Also, just because of no cars or no activity inside the building doesn't mean there are no other guests or no arrivals. When possible we do provide late checkout but it all depends on the availability.

Nothing fancy...clean and quiet.

A bit pricey, but it's the only hotel in North Vernon. It was clean and quiet. Typical continental breakfast with waffles, yogurt, cereal, etc. Nothing fancy, but it's a good place to get a good night's rest.
