Publié le 5 oct. 2024 sur HotelsThe staff were great but that’s it! The whole place was very very old, outdated, dirty and uncomfortable! Booked a twin room but was given a double room with a sofa bed without any bedding! The room was very dirty and dusty. Bathroom was awful. The outside of the building was quite impressive though!

The hotel was empty and had no character whatsoever. It is a lovely old building that has been left to go to rack and ruin. Room was dingy and I could barely move in the shower it was so small. We had breakfast this morning and were the only people in the dining room and breakfast was very poor.

The hotel is stunning but needs millions spending on all the faults. It is very run down both internally and externally which is a great shame.

Historic stay
Publié le 19 juill. 2024 sur HotelsWe arrived late in the evening in a £15 Uber after a day at Trent Bridge. Quick, cheery check in. Quiet room, high ceilings, comfy bed, clean room, functional bathroom. Hot and cold choice at breakfast, lovely poached eggs. Shame you couldn't sit outside, but nice breakfast room. We had a short walk in the grounds to shake off a hangover, read a bit of the history of the place and then a quick check out!
