Pompous atmosphere but correct overall

Service, cleanliness and breakfast were correct but not outstanding for the "grandeur" they are trying to give to this hotel. I will go there again because it is convenient for business and the area is quiet and pleasant.

Overall good service; uncertain of a return

Room was clean; check-in swift however there were two wedding receptions that eve. Prior warning was given and I was asked that if it was too noisy, to come to reception and they would see what they could do about moving me to another room although the hotel was fairly booked for obvious reasons. The main frustration was the fire alarm which was set off at c.22.30 (at which time I was asleep with my child) because a guest had been permitted to set off either a firework or a large candle topper sparkler either in or near the building. The team attended to the incident quickly but it was disappointing that this had happened in the first place. Roughly an hour later, a short sound of fire alarm triggered again and again, waking everyone in the hotel. When asked the reception staff int he morning, they explained no compensation could be given as this was a safety precaution for guests (ok - but not the circumstances giving rise to that) but the second alarm was apparently “routine” Which I do not agree with. I stay at the hotel perhaps 5-6 times a year and whilst I appreciate certain circumstances are beyond control of staff, I would have expected a closer eye be maintained on guests to preserve safety and ensure fireworks etc aren’t lit in/near to the building. I will be re-considering whether I stay here again as I cannot imagine this occurring at nearby and well-known prestigious brand hotels.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback from your recent stay, I am sorry that you were disturb by the fire alarm, I you can appreciate this is in place for everyone safety and the issue that cause the alarm to go off was dealt with at the time. I am also sorry that you thought the team was not hands on at the time of the incident and I should feedback this back to the relevant team at our next Health and Safety meeting. after every evacuation as part of of procedure our engineer is to come and check that everything is back to normal when some check were done the alarm started again, I am sorry if this was not explain to you properly at the time. I hope with time you will chose to stay with us again.

Not very Clean

Not happy with my stay here due to it not being Clean thats the main issue and also the fire alarm going off at 11pm and then again at 1am so far from pleased with my stay here.

Dear John, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay, I am sorry that the cleaning was to your expectations on this occasion, as you can appreciate with just not clean comment it is very difficult for us to understand where we fail short. We did have our fire alarm go off and I can only apologies for the disturbance this cause, the alarm is in place for everyone safety and on this occasion went off twice due to a fault that had to be fixed by our external engineer.

Everything was fine as usual. However, someone in a room close to mine decided to have a party from 00:30 till 03:00. Loud music and voices. Not reported at time as I didn't know which room it was, although I suspect it was room 220 (I was in 218) This is a good hotel, I have stayed here many times, without any problems, and will do so again.

Lovely with a bit howl

Was a lovely place to stay, clean, friendly staff, only down points where the bathroom, no where to hang a towel, and someone decided to leave their dog in their room and it was howling for two hours, so we couldn’t sleep. We would stay again, but pray people would be more responsible with there dogs.
