Charming Gite

Lovely cottage very well equipped. Everything you need for a summer vacation including a heated pool. Jo and Paul were excellent hosts and helped with local information and any issues with the gite.

A Beautiful Couple’s Retreat

Publié le 20 août 2019 sur HomeAway
This property is well equipped and tastefully done. The owners were great. They allowed us to have the privacy needed and yet available at any request necessary. The location gives plenty of choices to visit markets, small villages and many chateaux. Just what we needed. Thank you The Renauds

A lovely little cottage in a quiet rural setting - the nicest place we have found yet.

A property created with real love and care, and it shows. Clean and comfortable with a good bed, private parking for our vintage car, surrounded by a lovely garden with a private bit for the gite and looking out over woods and farmland. Lots of extras provided (bikes, loungers, barbicue etc) and the most delightful host (and dogs) who made us really welcome. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back again. It would make an ideal base throughout the year for walkers and cyclists. Friendly British-run cafe in the local village used by a good mixture of locals and incomers.

We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts Jo And Paul. Lovely Gite in a tranquil location. Ideal for Chateau lovers and the evening walks in the woodlands nearby proved to be the ideal way to end a perfect day. Recommended!

Set in a quiet hamlet but close to a village with a shop and a bar/restaurant. Couple's retreat!

The owners, Jo and Paul, live adjoined to this quaint gite. They manage to strike that balance, between being attentive, helpful and available to meet all reasonable needs, and yet never intrusive. They will offer advice on local amenities and attractions, let you know details of local events and direct you to the best vineyards to visit! Kargo, the rescue dog also knows exactly how to behave with visitors and in our case, he always gave us a very waggy tail when we arrived 'home'! As a keen angler, Paul advised me on several good spots to spend a day in beautiful surroundings with a typical French picnic but he also managed to enter me into a local fishing competition! Local to the gite, you can walk or cycle through shady lanes and through forest. Fruit and vegetables are farmed and sold locally, the restaurant in Parcay-Les-Pins is good value and a must-see for me was the museum to sculptor, Jules Desbois: "De tous, la sculpture est l'art le plus accessible" - Jules Desbois (1851 - 1935) A lovely space to exhibit the work of one France's best 'Rodinesque' artists. In addition, for culture-vultures, within a short drive in any direction, you will find a beautiful chateau around every bend- or so it seems. We became habitual chateau-visitors! Francophile couples looking for a rural retreat will love this little haven for relaxation!
