I submitted an email one day before my stay to confirm my airport transfer to Le Vely Lodge. A woman who referred to herself as "Regina" responded and stated that I was staying at Mave Mai Lodge. Once I arrived there I was asked to be tranferred to a far away Air B&B named something "Mountain House". It was far away from the village center, unhygienic and riddled with hundreds of flies. Regina is an incapable and irresponsible manager that treats tourists like commodities. As I had purchased trip coverage, I will look into further options as Regina clearly did not fulfill the terms of the contract. Needless to say, I never stayed at Le Vely Lodge which is what I had purchased. I chose to focus on enjoying Nuku Hiva rather than wasting precious time on logistics that were not my making to begin with.

lovely Levely Lodge in beautiful Nuku Hiva
Publié le 20 oct. 2020 sur HotelsWe had a very smooth stay at Levely Lodge. Jean Claude picked us up at the airport for the long and scenic drive across the mountains to the village. The lodge has a kitchen, bathroom, veranda with couches and chairs, air conditioning in the room, parking, and we were collected every morning for a small but delicious breakfast at the sister pension. They arranged tours, a rental car, and gave lots of support. Our bonus was that there weren’t any other guests in the house so it was like your own vacation home! There are mosquitoes but with the air conditioning we were fine. Where we were eaten alive was at Anaho Bay beach. It’s six days later and I’m still scratching! The island is beautiful however and worth the mosquito bites to hike to the beautiful beach!
