Rustic 1960's Oceanfront Cottage With Modern Updates


This charming 1960's Cottage is a 4 bedroom / 2 bathroom single story home. The Oceanfront location has approximately 1200 square feet, renovated bathrooms with tile showers while the home maintains the original 1960's charm with Hardwood Floors in the bedrooms and Vaulted Beam ceilings throughout the home. The kitchen is mostly original, handmade cabinets, so no Granite or Marble Counter tops, but fully functional. The beds were fitted throughout with QUALITY Mattresses, so you will wake up feeling refreshed and ready for a day of fun.

Housekeeping/cleaning fee for all rentals is $125.00 Cancellation insurance available through VRBO. Damage Protection Insurance of $89 may be purchased through VRBO in lieu of $350 refundable deposit
Linen Charge of $125/stay is required during peak season. Linen package can be deleted for stays during Fall, Winter and Spring reservations or for less than 7 days.

In peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Changeover date is Saturday, booked by the week.
As we use the home frequently ourselves, we occasionally make minor updates to the furnishings and decor, so check back regularly for updates.

We do not allow animals of any kind, as an accommodation to several allergen sensitive repeat guests.

Oceanfront!
The cottage is cozy and has great beach access! We had a small problem with one shower and the property owner was very prompt to get it fixed. We had several pack n plays for babies and were able to fit them in the bedrooms too! There were no stairs inside the cottage so nice for traveling with Littles. We were farther on the west end of the blvd, which put us farther from the main places in town, but still just a short drive. We would definitely stay again!

Great Week of Beach Fun
Incredible host!!! Great communication and willingness to satisfy his guest. This is our second stay with Pete and hopefully there will be many more in the years to come. Great peaceful location and the feel of a cottage--don't feel as if you can't touch anything or it might break--very cozy! I just can't express how much we enjoyed staying with Pete. God bless!

Wonderful place
This place was big enough to hold our family comfortably, great view of the ocean and beach. Quick access to store for groceries. Property owner was quick to respond and extremely helpful during our stay! We would love to come back in the future!

Family beach vacation
We had a beach family vacation including 11 people with a combination of adults and teenagers (our 3rd year to OKI, 1st at this house). The layout of the place was good for us. The teenagers enjoyed the bunk room and everyone felt comfortable sleeping. We also had space to eat together and hangout in the kitchen/living room. The location of the property was great in a quiet neighborhood and the beach was not crowded. You can't beat oceanfront! We enjoyed the front porch in the mornings/evenings and the beach access. As others have said, the place needs some attention. When we arrived, the house was very dirty and hadn't been cleaned. We found trash behind beds when we were putting sheets on, and the floors had not been mopped. There was dust/sand on all surfaces. The house had not been deep cleaned in a long time and we found cockroaches. We spent the first 3 hours of our vacation cleaning, which is something I have never had to do at Vrbo. I was pretty upset because all of the reviews had depicted the property as "rustic" but clean, which is what I was expecting. The owner was responsive at first and explained the difficulty with getting reliable cleaning service, which is understandable. He also said he wanted to make it right, but in the end, he did not. Once we cleaned the place (2 of us for 3 hours solid) we had a great time with family and enjoyed the beach.

Beach Trip 2024
The home was very nice. It wasn't brand-new and that's what we expected, a home that has been lived in and comfortable, a place where, though being respectful, you didn't feel like you had to walk on pins and needles to mess anything up. It is right on the ocean. The morning was a favorite of mine when the sun was first coming up...it seems like my coffee tasted better then. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed and the grill was a favorite of mine since I used it practically every night. Looking forward to booking it again.

Quaint Cottage Ocean Front
My sisters and 2 friends spent a week here in April 2024. Although the cottage could use a little "sprucing up", we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly rent it again. Found a great place for breakfast at the Old Bridge Diner! And a wonderful dinner at The Island Way restaurant.

The beach house was very relaxing. It had an old rustic look, but the best thing is you can hear the waves crashing against the beach all night. Spent most our time sitting on the deck looking and listening to the water.

Great Place and Awesome Host
We had a wonderful time staying in this beach home listening to the waves and reading books. Truly a warm experience that brought back fond memories of visiting coastal Carolina as a kid. We cooked breakfast and lunch in the house and went out for seafood for dinner at the tasty local restaurants. The host was easy to get along with, extremely accommodating and very communicative making the overall experience second to none - seriously just a top notch down to earth person. We absolutely would stay here again and recommend this home for your next vacation too.

Great for Our Golf Group!
We were four lady golfers here for a golf tournament at the Clubs at St James (about 13 minutes away). The house could hold many more but we enjoyed having our own rooms. The house is charming but could use a few cosmetic repairs. But you can’t beat the view and proximity to the ocean! Thanks, Pete!

Clean, NO BUGS! Old but very nice! This is our second time staying there & will definitely stay there again! Would like a small mirror over the chest of drawers in the master bedroom. The other bedroom (queen only) the ceiling fan was very dusty. The other ones were not. Also could sure use some better pots & pans. The baking pans should be discarded. The ones in oven drawer. Love the location!!

great house
great house lots of sleeping room. the only issue I had was no toilet paper when you arrive. no soap or dish detergent. most places supply a little to start with. awesome views, very relaxing. Quaint and comfy. great communication with owner.
