This is a wonderful place with all the conveniences of a small one bedroom apartment with porch.

Posted Sep. 24, 2024 on HomeAwayOur stay was awful. The sweet looking bedroom actually had two huge queen beds stuffed into corners. Nightstands were haphazardly against walls nowhere near the beds. We actually had to move furniture to find a way to sleep.
Not a spare blanket in the place.
There was a security light placed just outside the window in exactly the WORST spot so it lit up the room like a firework. And it's sensitivity was set to detect a spider.
When you walk through the "gate" you find used artificial turf covering what could have been a lawn or garden. Just a massive missed opportunity.
Overall the sense that the owners had no clue or care about guests was clear from the first moment.The one start is for them having coffee.

The house was all one big room, and rather cold.. tall ceiling

Great neighborhood and hospitality

Nice place easy access to city
Posted Jul. 6, 2022 on HomeAwayEasy access to property. Large room plenty of beds, nice bathroom. Dog loved the front fenced yard and runs in the giant park area in the neighborhood. Great access to city in just 30 minutes. Only draw back was no AC so a little hot during the daytime, 2 large ceiling fans helped and at middle of night would cool off. Would stay again if in the area.

Thank you Brad for the feedback let me see what I can do to address the heat, we would absolutely love to host you again. I hope you were able to walk the left and right banks of Lake Chabot. The roundtrip hike around the reservoir is approx. 14 miles, I have done it three times and each time loved it more.

Great location!
Posted Jun. 11, 2022 on HomeAwayPerfect location for our visit to Castro Valley! Easy walk to Chabot Park, and close to all attractions in the area! The room had all the amenities and conveniences noted in the listing, and more. Would definitely stay here again!

Good location. Unique setup. Share with several other rentals.

I'm not a bay area person, so this may be typical, but it was a former family home that has been retrofitted to be several rental units. Technology was not the strength, but I wasn't there to watch TV. There are handwritten notes everywhere, explaining things, as opposed to a simple book with instructions.
Furnishings were fine. Security felt fine. Good neighborhood. Parking sucked, but I assume that's just the entire area's problem. I had to unload my entire truck, because when other people were in the adjoining units, I couldn't put the vehicle somewhere visible from the unit.
If you are incredibly intimate with other people in your party, you could stay together, but it is basically a large room with beds spread about. The bathroom was nice, and a new kitchenette was in the process of being installed.
If privacy matters to you, it's not for you. If you're going to just need somewhere to sleep while you're out all day, it's great.

Hi Kurt, Please see message about payment for the additional night. Parking has not been an issue for others, being a corner house plenty of parking. I have added Xfinity streaming for the TV, prior was local channels only. Anyway glad to have hosted you! Best wishes for a safe 2022.
