Fantastic stay!

Helped me with restaurant ideas for a surprise birthday gathering for our daughter. Everything you need is provided and if you have a question or request it is answered promptly.
Lovely setting, 3 min. walk to downtown Alameda to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful garden with lounge chairs provided. Canaries singing and a koi pond. All in all, a great stay!

Thank you Pat & Bill ! Good to see you again ! I'm glad the restaurant I recommended turned out great ! I know you loved the snug little cottage and was thankful that I had the fireplace going to warm your bones when you arrived , a quick pop into bed and the next day refreshed ! Well !!!!! one word !!!!! to describe US !...... well it's a good word , but I was expecting a sonnet or two ! ha ha ! With all the wonderful stories we both exchanged , it just surprised me with the one word comment ! We could have gone on and on with the tales and adventures that you have chalked up in you early years . All the places you have stayed , and still our place to you was unique ! Well Thank You for that !!! We are so pleased to have had you here for too short of a stay , not even enough time to spend it the garden due to the weather . Unique but excellent

The cottage was comfortable and ecclectic - loaded with the owners' special touches. Everything was well stocked and clean. And you are two blocks from dozens of ethnic restaurants on Park St.
This is an oasis in Alameda.

Ah ! you came for your Buddhist retreat and found our retreat even more restful .That is truly a compliment ! The wind chimes and the sounds of the falling waters, mingled in with birds chirping is a true message from nature to unwind and breath deep . Glad our place did all this for you ! VERY special oasis-highly recommended

John and Arthur have put a lot of love, elbow grease, thoughtfulness, and beauty into creating this special retreat nestled in their charming garden of treasures of the plant, bird, and antique variety! I booked this place for my parents and they were delighted to spend hours in their cottage and the gardens, and to get to know John & Arthur a bit, who are very kind, funny and interesting humans that are creating beauty with regard for the planet and sharing it with others. Besides the lovely space they have created with their keen eyes for design and love for antiques, they also are generous with their hospitality; attentive and friendly but also left my parents to enjoy their space. I adore and am amazed by what they have created and am so grateful to have experienced it with my parents. It was so delightful and my parents and I so appreciated their kindness and hospitality! I highly recommend!

Hi Mark . We saw so little of you , if we did I would have suggested that you bring your mother to our garden . I sure she would of loved to get to see where your staying and see the birds in the aviaries and the koi in the pond . She could feed them. We await your return .
