Restful stay outside of center
Publié le 4 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful time with extended family here, enough room for everyone! Management and Socoro the caretaker were both very nice people and very helpful. The breakfasts were delicious and quite a treat to have them provided fresh daily for us with 2 kinds of fresh made juices as well!

The best rental home ever
Publié le 30 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayI’ll start off by stating that I normally do not write reviews even though the majority of rental homes have been very nice. I have rented homes in Italy, France, UK, and Spain. And at home in the US.
Rented home 6/23- 6/28/24
However, without a doubt, this home in Oaxaca has been our favorite. The house was beautiful, the location was private, and the best was meeting the housekeeper/chef, Socorro, and the homeowner, Ming.
We loved that Socorro lived in the home while we were there. She was up early in the morning cooking us delicious breakfast, and she cleaned the home everyday while we out doing tourist stuff.
Homeowner was a great communicator as well. Water pressure and temp were great.
We hope to go back soon.

Good house for big groups but too far from center
Publié le 13 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe were a group of 11 that stayed for 8 days. The house was comfortable with plenty of seating areas, heated pool, most bedrooms had their own bathroom, daily breakfast and room cleaning included. The town is about 15 minutes out of the center of town and it’ll cost between $6-$9 each way to get to the center. The town is charming with small grocery stores, coffee shop, and a great pizza place called Mama Mia. Bring ear plugs, there's a lot of dogs and they bark all night. Overall the stay was ok, probably wouldn’t be back mainly because of distance to city center. Getting taxis was not easy, we ended up getting phone numbers for a few to personally call. DiDi wasn’t reliable. You could walk a couple of blocks to the church where taxis are more likely to stop. The owner took care of a few mishaps with leaks and water issues, although it took 2 days to get a shower head replaced so our friends showered as if out of a water hose. One room in the upstairs doesn’t have its own bathroom and you must walk past the living room to get to the bathroom. Some of the beds were uncomfortable, you could feel the springs. The bathrooms are really tight, no more than one person at a time and you can be on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time. Something that isn’t in the rental description is that the person that cooks and cleans stays at the property. The owner showed up everyday as well so it didn’t feel like we had privacy.

Nice stay in beautiful Oaxaca
Publié le 2 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMing was there to welcome us, and introduce her housekeeper Socorro who proved to be a very delightful, accommodating person. Fortunately, our group spoke enough Spanish collectively to get along with Socorro. The breakfasts and a couple of dinners were very well prepared. Overall, we were satisfied with the Holiday House. The location in San Felipe de Agua was further away from the downtown area than we anticipated. It took 20-30 minutes to travel to Zocalo, and taxis cost more like 100 pesos for 4 people rather than the 40 pesos mentioned on the website. It is right on two bus routes. The house could use some TLC – drawers that were hard to pull out, a small bathroom with slippery tiled shower, a slanted pool table with pockets ripped out, etc. Also, we didn’t see any travel books or literature to suggest venues or restaurants, and no recommendations from Ming. Additionally, the quiet was regularly interrupted by barking dogs, especially in the evenings. Some basic amenities (hair dryer, shampoo) were not provided until we asked. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Excellent in so many ways
Publié le 28 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayThis stay was amazing form start to finish. We are very grateful to Ming Quing and our lovely live-in housekeeper, Socorro, for being so helpful during our stay. We appreciated their recommendations, accommodations, and suggestions regarding activities in the area, ways to get around, and ensuring that we got all we wanted out of our experience in Oaxaca. They both expertly attuned to each persons wants (we were a big, fun group) and explained everything thoroughly. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!
Below are some quotes from other friends who stayed in the villa:
"Socorro was definitely my highlight and how she was so accommodating to our requests and a great conversationalist."
"The villa definitely made this trip so much more fun and relaxing. The hand made breakfast and juices were a great way to start our day."
"Did not expect to see the owner as much as we did, I'm used to not seeing them unless we need something."
"Socorro was extremely helpful and a great caretaker."

Excellent House Near Oaxaca Centro
Publié le 21 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayVery welcoming place close to downtown Oaxaca. Host was superb. Full breakfast was provided and there is a full-time live-in housekeeper. House was big and comfortable. Getting to Oaxaca center was very easy. Close to Benito Juarez National Park, which has a good hiking trail. Overall, a highly recommended place.

Food Trip 2023
Publié le 27 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayGreat spot outside the central part of the city. Plenty to do in the area, but only a quick cab ride into town. Really enjoyed the deck and pool. Housekeepers made incredible breakfasts for us every morning and were super sweet about helping us secure cabs or answer questions we had. We were very, very happy with this house.

Great House for a Group
Publié le 24 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayThis property is a little bit outside of Oaxaca city but an easy $100-150 peso taxi into town. For our group, we mainly spent nights and evenings at the house and were out and about during the day so it was no problem.
The rooms are plenty and spacious with each room have its own bathroom. Multiple people were able to shower at the same time without running out of hot water. The living area is equally comfortable with the bonus of the patios and pool area.
Most delightful, though, was Maria - the live-in housekeeper and wonderful cook. Each day Ming would coordinate with the two of us on what the following day’s breakfast should be. We started all our days on the right foot thanks to healthy and bountiful breakfast that kept tummies full. And on some days when we left the house particularly early for a tour, Maria was kind enough to pack us a to-go breakfast.
Lastly, Ming was a kind and gracious host. She stopped by the house a few times to say hello and was very communicative in the lead up to our arrival. She also connected me with a great local tour guide who took us to Monte Alban and Teotitlan. Given we were a large group, his van meant that we could travel together without needing to hail multiple taxis.
Can’t recommend this house enough! We were a group of friends this time but when we come back to Oaxaca with our partners we will likely book Ming’s house again. Thank you for a lovely stay!
