Very convenient if you have a car, but staff REALLY does not speak any English. That said, they do really try hard to help! Very friendly.

Thank you very much for staying at Hotel Route Inn Ofunato.Once again, we would like to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to contribute.Regarding the location, there are restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. that were rebuilt after the earthquake in the vicinity of the hotel, so we believe that you can use them without any inconvenience when eating or drinking. However, when it comes to sightseeing around the city or touring the disaster-stricken areas, I believe it would be more comfortable to have a car.We apologize for any inconvenience caused regarding the English proficiency of our staff. We will do our best to ensure that your stay will not be uncomfortable because you do not speak English. I would be very happy if I could at least convey that feeling.All of our staff will continue to work hard to make your stay a comfortable one. We hope you will use our hotel when you come to Ofunato.

Terrible service. Hotel refused to supply 2 pillows for 2 guests! Only one pillow for 2 people. The hotel asked for an additional 1,500 yen for one “extra” pillow! Also, refused to check in before 4 pm. Most hotels are 3 pm. Waited one hour in lobby after a long drive. Wifi was also spotty in lobby. And lots of noise from staff in lobby. Also, the hotel charges for parking. Every other hotel in this region gives free parking.
