Perhaps just relax after a day of wine tasting in the local wineries and enjoy the fabulous vistas. The home is only 40 minutes from downtown Santa Fe, Taos, and Los Alamos. It is centrally located to ski areas of Sipapu, Pajarito, Santa Fe, and Taos as well and extremely close to rafting venues or the Opera, numerous Galleries, petroglyphs, and cultural activities. Go fly fishing up the Chama River or Rio Grande or rafting which is only minutes away. After soak your body in the home’s oversized clawfoot tub then sip wine while you soak in the fabulous vistas from this home. Create those memorable times away from home in this home. The home has two feet thick adobe walls with a viga, split cedar and pine latilla ceiling, with smooth plastered walls and a portal (veranda) overlooking the Rio Grande Valley and Sangre de Cristos to the east. This place is just what you imagined for Santa Fe adobe architecture with a modern touch, an amazing kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, but with a uniqueness all its own. A large basalt retaining wall with wrought iron gates provides privacy during your stay. Get the Santa Fe experience without all those high costs.

High desert beauty
We loved our stay at this very comfortable Adobe in Rio Arriba county. Greg was a super host and responded quickly to every message we sent. Very authentic Santa Fe style and drinking coffee on the spacious front porch watching the sun come up was exactly what we wanted. We made easy trips into Santa Fe and to the lavender farm and to the Georgia O’Keeffe Welcome Center and Abiquiu Inn for breakfast and dinner. Driving into the property have us a little pause because of being two women alone, but we felt perfectly safe upon arrival. Thanks Greg , we will recommend your beautiful place to anyone wanting to get out of the city and into the enchantment of Northern New Mexico.

Adobe Home
This home is a beautiful blend of adobe and wood. It's in a quiet area with no traffic and a great view when sitting outdoors and we were lucky enough for a full moon. It is centrally located for day trips to many areas. I don't cook on vacation but--wow--what a kitchen if you do. Communication was great and check-in check-out were both quick and easy.

Nice, comfortable
The property is a bit away from town and the location worked well for the hiking exploration and daytrips we made based from the rental. The house is very interesting and has a cool adobe vibe. The view east of the house is a small farm that adds nice ambience.

Peaceful perfect location
We absolutely can’t say enough nice things about this place and Greg! Check in was simple, the house is beautiful inside and so comfortable. The view off the veranda is stunning. Watched the sunrise, a full rainbow appear and the stars night. It was centrally located for our hiking in Taos, exploring Taos Pueblo and the Puye Pueblos in Española and Santa Fe/Albuquerque. Highly recommend!! Thanks so much for the hospitality!!

Beautiful and tranquil spot
We had a lovely time at this spot-- the setting was beautiful, and the home clean, comfortable, and safe. We used it as a home base to visit Santa Fe, the O'Keeffe homestead and Ghost Ranch, and multiple nearby hiking trails. It was a perfect setting and so relaxing. Highly recommend.

Everything was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen spacious, the bathrooms had all the luxury comforts you could want and everything was clean and ready to use. The only thing I’d have added was a second, more comfortable couch.

Balance between access & escape
My daughter (30 yo) and I took a dad-daughter road trip for the weekend (9/15-9/18 2023). I chose this spot because it is out of the touristy, high-priced, chain lodging trap. This home is in a residential, rural setting and it is pretty awesome. I did, as advertised, enjoy the sunrise while having coffee. I was joined by crowing roosters. And that was awesome. At night, we enjoyed very bright stars in the late summer skies. Absolutely stunning ways to start and end the days. The accommodations are superb: great kitchen appliances, all the utensils, place settings, coffee maker … to make for comfortable living. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and comfortable. Not one complaint about any accommodations. For me, a strong suit is the location. We were basically a 45-55 minute drive from Taos, from Santa Fe, and from Ghost Ranch. My daughter and I spent time in all three places over our 4-day weekend. Big plus! Espanola is basically 15 minutes away if we needed to run to a grocery store. I will definitely stay here again. No doubt about it!

Wow! This place is amazing. View is absolutely stunning and feels remote even though it’s only a 15 minute drive to Walmart. Definitely the cleanest place I’ve stayed at and Greg was a great host! 11/10! Pictures do not do this place justice at all!

A special and lovely home
Staying at Casa El Guiqueno was delightful and restorative. The house is beautifully appointed with a chef's kitchen, relaxing and elegant living and dining spaces, comfortable bedrooms, lovely and unique bathrooms, and a porch which invites rest and relaxation as one looks out on a verdant valley. Greg was a wonderful host.

Great quiet location with great amenities!
Our family stayed here with ages ranging from 15 to 85. We all enjoyed the house, the property and the neighborhood. It's a welcoming rural retreat while still being close to the Ohkay Owingeh pueblo and Espanola so there's lots of opportunity to shop for local crafts and check out the local cuisine. We used the high-end kitchen extensively and it was seamless for full meal cooking. We especially enjoyed sitting and eating on the porch while taking in the scenic views. Greg, the property contact, was outstanding to coordinate with including fast responsiveness and thoughtfulness in addressing our needs. I strongly recommend this location as a place to stay.

Beautiful home
Was a beautiful place to stop n rest 2 nights on our way back from Colorado. We didnt leave but once to goto dollar store so cant say much bout town. Neighborhood was quiet. Loved the bath tub n coffee that owner brought me that i drank on the porch looking at the beautiful mountains. Also they let us sign into their Netflix n disney + which was a great feature to keep kids busy (we dont have either) got to watch some fun movies we never seen snuggled up. Owner was very accommodating even offered a crib for my 1yr old. We will be back. Home away from home thanks

Beautiful location, peaceful with an amazing view!
This house was just what my family and I needed for our trip out to visit family. Close to all our family and various sites, food etc while being away from things enough to enjoy the peace and calm of the beautiful views. House had everything we needed and more. Owner was great and made the check in/check out process easy. We didn’t have a need to contact the owner during our stay as we had everything we needed but I had the feel he would have been readily available if we had had the need. Will definitely be looking to stay here again for future visits!

Peace and quiet
The rural setting of this property is a giant plus after spending a day moving about the crowds of people in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. So quiet. You can’t help but appreciate the craftsmanship and skill it must have taken to construct this home. Walls that are two feet thick and the huge log beams of the ceilings make this place seem so substantial. This place will be here centuries from now. If you are inclined to cook a meal or two the kitchen is huge and well equipped. The bedrooms are large and the beds very comfortable. And there is lots of room to spread out. The owner is responsive and not a bit intrusive. The central location to Taos and Santa Fe made it a perfect choice for us. Overall a wonderful experience.
