Great house, safety concerns not taken seriously

House its self was great, close to the boardwalk, clean, sleeps 16 comfortably but unfortunately we had a major safety issue during our stay. The second morning of our stay a massive tree fell almost crushing my family members having coffee outside. Luckily they heard the tree cracking and acted fast and jumped up and ran. Luckily no one was hurt but they were very shaken up after this. The property management Vacasa was immediately notified and they were very apologetic but were not comprehending the seriousness of the situation. Aside from the tree almost killing my family members, a good portion of the yard was unable to be used. I asked Vacasa for some sort of refund, accommodation or compensation and have gotten the biggest run around and actually just have been ignored on my request to this day. They wanted to send a tree service company out to clean up but I requested them not to bc I didn’t want machinery and chainsaws disrupting our stay further. That request was also ignored and we had an afternoon of yard clean up by a tree service company. The tree service associate said many trees were unsafe and that the trees haven’t been properly pruned which likely led to the tree falling. Aside from the safety concern here, it’s also concerning that Vacasa ignores requests and minimizes concerns. Maybe it would have been better is could have contacted the owner directly but that was not an option. It’s too bad bc I really liked the house itself and the location.

House was clean. The trash in the yard was over turned and spilling everywhere when we got there and there was a ton of it but it was picked up within 2 hours of us being there. Comfy house, cute. We couldn’t use the back deck there are holes in the deck covered by carpets. Great location overall we had a great family vacation with two families.

Dirty, humid, moldy house and terrible communication

We rented this for a group of 11 girls over Labor Day weekend. The week leading up to our trip we sent a message to the host with a few basic questions about the house. It seems like the host has outsourced property management to another company, but the company doesn’t really know anything about the house or the location as they weren’t able to tell us basic things like if the house had enough towels for everyone and if we were allowed to park on the street. Fast forward to our actual stay, upon entering the house we noticed: little fruit flies and spiders everywhere, a cracked toilet seat, and extremely uncomfortable beds. The worst part, which is also a health hazard, was the mold and mildew everywhere. The humidity in the house is so high, our towels wouldn’t dry overnight. The only positive thing is the location, just a 10 minute walk from the beach and pier. Will not be coming back.

We have made our local team aware of your concerns regarding mold and mildew in the home. Upon inspection, no mold or mildew was found. In some areas of this home, there is previous water stains present and while it may appear as active mold or mildew it is not. We appreciate your feedback and we hope to host you again soon.

You can’t smell through photos…

The living room, dining room and kitchen areas are ideal for family gatherings. It’s location is just a short walk to the pier, fair and stores. Unfortunately the bedrooms in the back had a musty/mold type of smell that just wouldn’t go away and one bedroom has no windows so at night it would get very warm (there’s no AC).
