Solid Family Home in a Lovely Neighborhood
Publié le 8 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayOur interaction with Antonio was excellent. The home was as advertised with a lovely kitchen and excellent beds. The place seemed freshly painted and was very pleasant to spend time in. There is a new deck out back and good chairs that encourage conversation. I have only a few suggestions that would make it better (almost perfect?). An extra chair in the living room would be great and it would be really, really nice to have some bedside table lamps. Otherwise, I would definitely stay in this home again, the next time I find myself in Omaha.

First time VRBO

West Omaha home

The kitchen was very nice and is represented well in the pictures. Great for cooking family meals. Nice lighting. The only drawback to the kitchen/dining area (my error for not noticing in the pictures) is that there is not a standard dining table. There is a nice bar area to eat, however, we love to sit and chat and was a bit awkward at the bar. Not a big deal though.
The bedrooms were nice and the upstairs bathrooms were fine. The towels were adequate but not fluffy and new as pictured.
Our concerns with the home were the following: the deck has exposed nails and wood rotting, and no furniture to sit outside. No railings on the front steps which are a bit uneven. The indoor steps have broken edges with sharp points as you walk downstairs. The downstairs half bathroom (one of the three) is a toilet and utility sink in the utility room, and concrete wet floors as something is draining there. It is also musty downstairs which I understand is a basement but just an FYI.
The owner offered to move us next door to their other rental which was a nice offer. We chose to stay as already settled. He also responded quickly to our concerns.
The kitchen is lovely and the bedrooms are comfortable. Our comments are just FYIs to renters as is nice to know the detail.s.

Where to start with this guest… Guest had reached out a couple weeks prior to their stay with concerns that mother wasn’t in the best of health. We had offered to refund monies, but Guest ultimately decided to keep reservation.
Mothers health wasn’t the greatest and guest complained about home having steps. Guest knew home had steps when they booked the property. Outdoor chairs are available at the home, we’re in the storage shed. Guest never asked about outdoor chairs. The host is available to serve you, never reached out.
Ultimately, Guest is upset because they broke one of the windows in the home and was asked to pay for it. Guest was aware that bathroom in basement was half bath toilet and sink. Ultimately there are still two showers in the home.
Yes, the deck is needing some service and is scheduled to be replaced. Contractors have been delayed because of weather.
The drainage tube going to the drain is for the HVAC and humidifier. It’s required because of condensation needs to drain.
This guest was ultimately upset because they made the wrong decision in bringing a sick mother into the home when health was declining. It’s not our fault.
Guest broke one of the windows and had to be replaced.
