Bon accueil, soirée sympa autour d’un feu de camp, jolie chambre mais un peu sombre et ventilation trop bruyante dans la salle de bain

Good welcome, nice evening around a campfire, nice room but a little dark and ventilation too noisy in the bathroomThank you Laurence for visiting the Sunshine Motel and Cabins. We are pleased that you had an opportunity to come out with your mom to the campire. It was good conversation and good roasted marshmallows. We are sorry to hear that the ventilation in the bathroom was too loud and the room seemed dark. We are always revamping and making changes and will definitely take your input into consideration when we remodel the rooms. Thank you for staying with us! The motel is a quaint, rustic, very well kept, north-woods property a few miles west of Ontonagon, MI. It is run by a couple who are welcoming and helpful. This is how rural vacation hotels used to be 50 years ago. The very clean rooms are in good condition and contain all the amenities such as mini-frig, microwave, and wifi.

The couple that own this place are very nice and informative. The room was cozy, clean and the bed comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends

Lovely room. Owners were super nice. Convenient to Porcupine Mountains state park. May come back and stay in one of the cottages in the future.

This is a nice, clean property and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. It has new HVAC units which we did not use. It needs more light in the bedroom and an electrical outlet in the bath. The bath fan starts on when the light is turned on and is VERY LOUD which is a problem during the night.

Good news and bad news about this place.
Bad news…place welcomes pets and therefore the rooms have a distinct urine odor—we had two rooms and both were affected. Also, sheets and bedding are over-laundered, so if you’re bothered by strong laundry scents that’s a problem. If you can get past those things, the good news is the grounds are beautifully kept and there’s beach access to a vast amount of beach walking along the lake.

We do thank you for staying with us. *** Lodging owners beware*** Although these guests were nice they were dishonest. The guests arrived in a camper van along with at least two other people that we could see, as they were purposeful in hiding them. Problem being that they only rented one room that sleeps 2 people, fully expecting to lodge the other people in their parking stall for free and then use the facilities. When we first asked the guests, they said that there were only two people in total. They were surprised when we told them that the other people had to pay or rent a room as well if they wanted to stay on property. We do believe that this is where the majority of this review stems from, but we could be wrong. We do thank you Jennifer, for giving us the opportunity to speak of this. We use an ozone machine in all rooms with pets to eliminate odors, dander and all other allergens along with regular carpet cleanings and replacements when ever needed for the saftey and comfort of all our guests. Safe travels always.
