All about the Lake!
Publié le 6 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayVery relaxing, quiet and peaceful month spent at the cabin. Our 2 Labs loved the yard. We could open the door and allow them outside to chase the lizards and squirrels. They were safe in the fenced yard and we appreciate being allowed the entire run of the property. We enjoyed the canoes and kayaks. We saw an otter in the lake and a pair of nesting Sandhills cranes-nature at its finest! We might suggest replacing the outside cushions!

Sadly we had tropical rainstorms the entire week and you could not go out on the lake....maybe a beautiful sunset or two might have given the cabin that 5th star! I'm glad you enjoyed your time!

Rustic cabin
Publié le 30 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is truly a rustic cabin. It's a charming area that was once part of a treehouse. The place was clean and had hot/cold shower, a nice sitting area with a TV (Netflix included). A comfy queen sized bed and a gorgeous view of the lake off of the back porch. Do note, the floors are sloped and the path to the cabin is not paved, so if you have mobility issues, this is most likely not the place for you. We didn't have time to use them, but kayaks and paddleboards are available to enjoy the lake. The owner met us on arrival. She is awesome! We didn't have any issues, but I feel like she would help you out without hesitation if you needed anything during your stay!

Perfect getaway location

Perfect quiet and calm space to relax after long days. I only wish I had scheduled more time to spend just at the cabin to enjoy all the extras that were provided! Highly recommended for anyone that enjoys time in nature.

Hidden Gem in Orlando!

It’s all about the lake! Paddleboard, kayak canoe!
Publié le 19 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayHost was very accommodating. When we asked about cushions for the kayaks, she ordered them from Amazon and had them delivered the next day. We spent lots of time on this beautiful 90 acre lake, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. In the two weeks we were visiting in early March we saw only 15 other water craft on the lake the entire time. We ate lunches and dinners in the boathouse/Screenhouse occasionally. We brought a crockpot and cooked all our meals in. Facilities were accurately described. Rent the cabin; live on the lake!

I cannot tell you how much I miss seeing you both out on the water in the kayaks each morning at 7am while having my coffee from the back deck of the main house. You are truly the people this cabin was built for! Life is good!!

Rustic getaway

It is close to all amenities and a very busy area but you would never know it .Also very handy if you want a short(hour) drive over to the Cocoa Beach area .We enjoyed our stay as it is what we were looking for , just know that you are getting a "rustic" stay as described and enjoy what that has to offer.

Lakefront cabin

The back-to-back hurricanes definitely caused a tremendous amount of moisture and pollen in the air and on the property. We had rescheduled your stay a few times because you suffer from severe allergies. I guess a cabin in the woods wasn't the best choice all things considered.

Disappointed—no stovetop, lacking cleanliness
Publié le 20 janv. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe owner communicated with me before my arrival and left a key in the door, for my late arrival, both of which I appreciated. (Thank you.) However, I purchased groceries assuming the place had a cooktop, but it didn’t. The owner makes clear in her description that the place is rustic, which is correct. In doing so, she should also make clear that there is no cooktop or stove and so no way to cook. Also, she should make clear that the place receives only a once-over before guests arrive. I don’t need granite countertops, but I do need cleanliness, and the place made me wheeze during my stay.

Skott, I never got to meet you, as I was at a week long conference out of state. With that said, I was unaware that the woman that cleaned the cabin between guests noticed that the cooktop wasn’t heating properly. My apologies. However, I truly wish you had texted me or called me or VRBO messaged me and I would’ve resolved the issue immediately.
I have a message board in the cabin with all of my contact info....clearly asking my guests to reach out to me if they encounter any concerns or need anything to make their stay more comfortable. With respect to your allergies...and the obvious concern you had with the small size of the cabin and furnishings....again....if you would’ve contacted me, I would have gladly canceled the reservation after you arrived in the middle of the night and were dissatisfied. Please communicate with the next host where you decide to stay and provide them with the opportunity to address any concerns versus rating them poorly. We open our homes to complete strangers and truly do our best to offer unique experiences and meet new friends.
