Good location, 10 to 15 minute walk from train station and the funicular and has a good view of the hilltop city of Orvieto from below. The included breakfast was fine.

The owner, who oversees, handles the billing, serves the meals, and takes care of all issues, really makes this place worthwhile to stay in. He cares deeply.

Posted Jun. 7, 2019 on HotelsWe chose this hotel because of it’s proximity to the train station. It was .6 of a mile. Doable with luggage. The rooms were clean, and dated. The air conditioner did not work and there were no screens on the window. Breakfast was typical Italian fare. The location was near a number of restaurants.

Friendly people, hotel and rooms were a little dated but comfortable and clean. Very nice food in the restaurant. Handy to the train station and funicular to the old town.

Nice but noisy

Classic old-world charm
Posted Mar. 27, 2017 on HotelsHotel Umbria was a wonderful stay! The owner was so attentive and gracious. Breakfast was substantial and beautifully presented. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Good wifi connection! No parking provided, but available on street overnight.

Overall recommended, especially because of the location - it's much more comfortable to stay near the train station downhill and travel with the funicular to the old town uphill

Missed opportunity
Posted Sep. 27, 2014 on HotelsThe trains were on strike leaving Florence. I was unable to get to Orvieto where this hotel was. I tried to phone but no one spoke English. I was charged for staying here. I truely wish I could have. Then I would've made an accurate rating
