Hello. I was able to extend my stay by two weeks but I had to contact the management company directly. The people were nice and the process was relatively painless. To do this through Expedia would’ve been more troublesome, I think. The part about GGH that I did not like was when the cleaning staff would come in a clean things up. I had to kind of stay out of their way and they came off as a bit standoff-ish and rude. However, other than that, the other staff were fine. I also think that the TV’s in the rooms could be more accommodating for hooking up DVD players, and computers and such. How they are mounted on the walls makes it very difficult to hookup a computer or DVD player as you are not able to access the back of the TV. There’s no refrigerator or kitchen at GGH, short term stays are best. No longer than three weeks is best. It’s also best to get food that doesn’t require refrigeration. Also I think GGH, should make it easier for guests to contact them, as the hostel is un-manned. Perhaps they should have a land line phone at the hostel that guests can use to reach them. Overall, I would stay at GGH again. I probably will. Thank you.

I thought the gorilla theme was really cute and liked the shared space dorm feeling. Some guests were cheerful and not especially quiet but once it got late it was quiet and we slept well. It actually felt festive and pleasant. The bath facilities were clean. There could have been more garbage bins as they got full quickly and it became difficult to separate. The space had a good feeling and it was comfortable to sleep on futons even as a family. There's not much privacy so it might not be great for small kids but we enjoyed our stay as a family. It is a rather long walk to the station. There were fun summer festivals in the neighborhood we got to enjoy. The autoemails with room codes weren't sent automatoically, just a repeat of the cleaning etc information emails, until I called and asked. I wish it had wifi.
