It’s a bit off the beaten path but once you get here, it’s very well kept and the owners are very accommodating. Each cabin has a fire place and they start a fire for you at night. There is also a heater for when that isn’t enough.

Stunningly Beautiful Resort Hidden in the Hills
Publié le 14 août 2018 sur HotelsCasa Mojanda is a stunningly beautiful place with a staff that could not be more gracious. Jorge the general manager is knowledgeable and very willing to share his experience, to assure that his guests have a memorable stay. Although the cobblestone road up the hill to the Casa is daunting, it is well worth the bumpy ride.

This Inn is a real find. The room was charm-filled with curated art and exposed wood beams. The built-in fireplace was both beautiful and practical - we came back from dinner to a beautiful fire warming our room each night. The fresh hearty breakfasts were the best we had in 10 days in Ecuador. Jorge the manager provided an unbelievable level of service, arranging trips, taxis, suggestions - to the point where he had the cook give my 10-year old a taste of the sauce she was making for dinner to make sure it was not too spicy for her. There was literally no request too small. While some other reviewers thought dinner was expensive, it is essentially a three course meal, and excellent quality, so well worth it. While it is a little out of the way from Otavalo proper (a $3 taxi ride) that is a complete bonus as the views of the volcanoes are gorgeous and the drive up the mountain means that Casa Mojanda is away from the city hustle. Could not feel more safe, secure and welcome.

Beautiful Location and View of Mountains
Publié le 1 mars 2018 sur Expedia
Pour : The scenery, the managers/hosts, attention to detail, day-trip called "Craft Villages", giant hot tub, great room with fireplace.
Contre : Room prices & restaurant prices are high, compared to other Ecuadorian locations. Be sure of extra charges for Paypal, tax, service, and credit cards
Emplacement : See the market in Otavalo, even if it's Sunday. Also, the Parque de Condor is well worth the visit. And be sure to take the "Craft Villages" tour.
We stayed here upon the recommendation of a friend who had been here previously. It is about 15 minutes from Otavalo, a very famous market in Ecuador. The grounds are beautiful, as is the painting-perfect view of the volcanoes and mountains in the area. It is like stepping into a beautiful postcard. The staff is hard-working and conscientious. Both the manager (Jorge) and the owner (Betti) went out of their way to ensure our happiness and satisfaction. We enjoyed talking with both of them
The food is served at tables that accommodate all the guests and one of our favorite things was meeting other travelers who were there and sharing our experiences. We were lucky to have met such a great group of people.
Room prices are high by Ecuadorian standards and perhaps high even by US standards. Lunch and dinner are also too expensive, especially lunch. They do not offer a choice of food selection and it is mostly vegetarian. The food was well made and presented, but not a good value for the price.
Pro-trip: Take the "Craft Villages" tour which is a full day of touring multiple places and it's not at all "touristy." In fact, their website undersells the value of this tour, which was a highlight for us and it was very well priced. We highly recommend this day-trip arranged by Casa Mojanda
Pro-Tip 2: Get a room with a fireplace, which they will light while you are at dinner. Well worth it!

Incredible views & owners
Publié le 10 sept. 2017 sur ExpediaViews are truly stunning, our room was lovely and that lit fireplace each night just tickled us to cozy happiness. Food served was delicious and from food grown in their gardens. Loved the ladies speaking Spanish to us asking questions about the meal. Delightfully authentic and helped improve out baby Spanish - please don't ever change this! And last but by no means least, the owners and lovely. So helpful, kind and couldn't do enough for us. We felt so privileged. Thank you Ana Maria & Diego!
