Very friendly staff. Property is updated but yet has a great cottage feeling.

Canadian Cottage Charm on Rice Lake
Publié le 17 juin 2023 sur HotelsWe had an international family gathering and the place had all the charm of a Canadian Cottage on Rice Lake. The added bonus was a full kitchen to cook in or two restaurant choices. We saw wildlife, kayaked, swam, and there is a spa if you want to treat yourself. Park your car and just relax. Walk to a golfcourse or take a flying lesson. It was perfect for our gathering.

It’s a nice location close to Peterborough. Limited hot water during our stay. Even when we ran it for half an hour as suggested. Give you two fire starters for five days and charge you $2 extra for each additional. Seems odd with amount paid. Not sure why cost goes up with number in cabin increases. It’s not extra work for you. Cookie sheet too big to fit in small oven. Pro was two extremely nice guys brought us firewood. Kudos to them. Dinner on Christmas was very good.

Thank you as well for your feedback.We are very happy to hear you enjoyed Christmas dinner and your visits with some of our team members.We apologize for some of the inconvenience you encountered. The cottage you stayed in has a hot water heater that works as the water is used which means it takes a little longer for hot water to arrive but once it does there is unlimited quantity. It’s very energy efficient and part of what makes us a Sustainable Tourism 2030 Gold Certified property.I’m sorry as well that your value expectations were not completely met. Please understand we have a variety of cottage layouts for parties of 2 to 12 with square footage that ranges from 565 to 1428 square feet. Rates based on the number of people reflect the additional utilities, water, cleaning and periodical renovations which are clearly higher with larger cottages. I hope this makes the cottage rates easier to understand.Once again we hope you had a terrific Holiday Season and we wish you the best in 2023.Yours in hospitality,
