Needs a good cleaning and updating
Publié le 20 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayI believe this home gets a false rating because in the packet of information in the home it insinuates that you will receive a $20 gift card to Starbucks for any 5 star rating. That just is not right. People rely on these ratings. The place needs a thorough cleaning throughout. The furniture is old, outdated and uncomfortable. My night stand did not even have wood on the front it was missing and the other room the table was about ready to fall apart. All of the bath towels we were to use we all very damp so we had to wash them and dry them ourselves. The bathroom rug was disgusting. The bathroom upstairs in the loft is not one you can get ready in as there is no mirror (a very tiny one on the wall that is unusable to get ready in front of right next to the toilet). The picture they took of it cuts that off so you can't tell. The listing states they supply paper towels and there was less than a quarter of a roll left for us and no extras. They also have no extras at all for the kitchen such as plastic wrap. The soap dispensors were not filled. They should also learn to clean the top of the refrigerator! It seems as though a corporatoin owns this home and you can tell it. I will say the one plus it had going for it was the location. Very walkable to the downtown. The property just needs to do a good deep cleaning and replace disgusting rugs when they look so dirty. We have stayed at many of places and this one didn't seem worth the price paid or the ratings it has.

perfect location for ouray
Publié le 8 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayre engineered older house in downtown ouray. walking distance to all restaurants and stores. quiet street one block off main street. deer came up to yard every night to eat grass. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. the upstairs bathtub had an air hammer sound so we didn't use it. the heat worked fine but the gas log fireplace wouldn't lite. great kitchen with everything we needed and the front porch was a great place to sit and watch the sunset over the mountains. would stay there again.

Perfect house in Ouray

Walkable to Main St. NO AC

We enjoyed the close proximity to Main St and all the restaurants etc. When we hiked the Via Ferrata, Box Canyon and went to the hot springs pools we drove but they would be walkable if needed. This place wasn't quite as nice as I had hoped. The owners can't control the neighbors messy outside but it would be nice if they took more care in the tidyness of their own small yard. (Namely the back). Some of the porch furniture was in disrepair (broken). The downstairs shower had an unsavory odor and it would be nice to see some repair to it's outside lower tile work. We weren't left any Paper towels (listing says they are provided) and we ran out of toilet paper. The biggest issue with the place was NO air conditioning. I am sure I should have noticed that this was the case but I had failed to do that and it isn't called out at all just simply not listed as an amenity. I have no one to blame but myself. In early August we were quite uncomformtably hot and it was difficult to sleep even with a fan.
All that being said, it was much less costly then the other places I found and I am guessing the above are the reasons for it. You get what you pay for. It has the location going for it for sure. And it's not a horrible place it would just be nice to know a bit more of what to expect.
I did not reach out to the owner about any of the issues but that's because I never heard from him until I asked him about check out.

Nice house to stay in but needs attention on a few things. Porch furniture was bad and some small things need repaired. But the location was great.
