Pleasant Escape

We stayed in the Cayuga room, which has high ceilings and a modest amount of natural light. The furniture arrangement felt slightly... a desk or other table surface where one could write or work on the computer would go a long way.
Brunch was delicious and generous. The hosts have excellent knowledge of the area and positive relationships with local businesses, so we made use of several of their vintner dicounts.
Please note that guest rooms are accessed throughout the stay, and if you would prefer not to return to your room to find your personal items rearranged and moved, you may need to let the hosts know.
The only factor that slightly detracted from our stay was the level of cleanliness. In additon to leak residue on the ceilings, debris around the edges of the room, spills on the carpet, and long-dead bugs, we also found used hair ties and water bottle caps on our bedroom floor in front of the chairs, indicating that the room isn’t thoroughly vacuumed between guests.
Overall the stay was comfotable, and we were well atrended to throughout our stay. We hope to be back some day!

As a worldwide traveler, we appreciate you posting such a detailed review. We also appreciate your 10 out of 10 score despite the detractors. You are absolutely correct, the carpet is old and has some stains that have resisted our efforts at steam cleaning. The good news is we are having new installed this week.We apologize if we didn’t let you know for our business travelers in Cayuga, Seneca and Elizabeth that the downstairs library is at your disposal to work. You just close the doors so as not to be disturbed. We will ask guests if they would like their room accessed to take out trash, replace coffee and refrigerated beverages that we supply.We are baffled about the hair tie and bottle cap. We have excellent cleaners and if we personally aren’t flipping rooms we go in and check that they are ready.We wish you had let us know of these issues during your stay. We would have gladly vacuumed again and offered a free bottle wine!We love the finger lakes and love to share our knowledge of adult beverages, hiking, museums and events.Our BnB is offering you an wine down experience to our home where when you leave you feel like friends.

Jean and Mike are delightful😊! The property and home is beautiful! Her cooking and sourcing fresh foods was out of this world. Breakfast was brought to our room which had a beautifully arranged dining area. Everything was planned and provided for us without needing to ask (extra toothbrushes, water bottles, towels, every kind of tea and coffee imaginable with the in-room Keuhrig, coupons for local cidery, vinyards and restaurants, etc). The rooms were huge and beds were comfortable. The entire property was impeccably restored by our hosts. The fire pit was all set up when we returned from dinner, and plenty of wine was offered. We stay at a lot of bed and breakfasts, and this was by far the best place we have ever stayed! Can’t wait to return, and tell all of our friends and family!!!

You and your daughters were a delight! We had a number of guest staying with us for the Wine country dog show and you happily embraced them and their pets. We are glad you enjoyed the amenities. Having traveled extensively for work, we know how important having them available can be. We call the Manor a Bed & Brunch because we want you decide what time you want to eat and we serve you. Providing fresh fruits and veggies from or garden & orchard & from the local Amish helps use create a unique menu each day. We would love to have you return with you friends, family and gray hound.

A Perfect Treat
Publié le 17 juill. 2023 sur HotelsFrom the moment Jean and Mike welcomed us into their home to being farewelled 4 days later, we were treated to an exceptional stay. The bedroom was large and airy, cold drinks and snacks were available and the bed was was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - each day was different, fresh healthy, and often homegrown ingredients were used, and the presentation of the food was beautiful. Overall, the attention that Jean and Mike paid to detail, created a very special stay for us.

We appreciate you taking the time to post a review. We know other people who are interested in staying with us do read them. This time of year we are able to use fresh picked Amish grown or produce from our garden. It is great for our vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant guests. We offer a different brunch each morning as you know. Thank you for noticing our attention to detail. It is easy to be inn keepers when we have wonderful guests like you!

Jane and Mike were the most fantastic host and hostess. They welcome us into their home with impeccable service and warmth.. We we’re celebrating our 52nd wedding anniversary and they did an amazing job making our memorable trip very special.. They were also very helpful with information on planning our trip .. Definitely recommend highly!!!

We enjoy sharing special occasions with our guests. When you come to the manor as strangers, we work hard at having you leave as new friends. Decorating the room for your anniversary and then dividing bubbly was an honor for your over 50 years of marriage. Thank you for your wonderful review!

Beautiful Bed and Brunch located between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. Very convenient for touring the lakes. The house is wonderful and rooms very large. Clean bathroom and the living area is available for use. Quiet setting in Ovid, not terribly close to good restaurants, but just plan for that. There are plenty in surrounding towns. Jean and Mike are so kind and generous. We really enjoyed talking with them for the short time we were there. Highly recommend this B&B!

We truly appreciate your well written and informative review. Now that we are in the season we send an email that contains dining information and how to plan for all the amazing experiences the Finger Lakes has to offer. Unfortunately CoVID took its toll on dining in Ovid and we only have take out restaurants which guests can enjoy on our patio or in the dining areas. We very much enjoyed your stay as well.
